Travel Tips for Burgos

Covarrubias

by Carmela71

This villa is located next to the Arlanza river, and was declared of National Historical and Artistic importance.

It is a charming village with medieval flavour that still conserves its spirit.

Still unknown even for Spanish people.

Burgos - Cartuja de Miraflores.

by pfsmalo

Another moument well worth a visit is the Miraflores church. Built on the site of Henry III's burnt down palace by John II from 1454 until the turn of the century, and designed to receive the remains of John and wife Isabelle of Portugal. The superb royal mausoleum that dates from 1489 before the church was actually finished is in alabaster and is breathtaking in it's finesse. The church is open most days and entrance is free.

CAMINO DE SANTIAGO

by arlequin_g

If you want to feel like a pilgrim you can roam the Santiago’s path that goes through Burgos. It’s easy to do, you just have to follow the shells on the floor and they’ll guide you all the way. Also if you ask a map of the city in the tourist office you can see it indicated on it. Start it from Plaza San Juan. It wont take long.

Burgos

by Truna

I lived in Burgos for a month and a half one summer taking classes. While I was there I fell madly in love with the city. It's a big city, but it doesn't feel it. The people are incredibly friendly. The catedral is arguable the prettiest in Northern Spain. It also has a huge nightlife. Yoiu can constantly find somthing to do and people to meet. I miss it dreadfully and look forward to going back
