In the old towns of the Leon province you can find really old buildings, made of brick and stone. Like the one where this sign was, in the little village named Castrillo de los Polvazares, near the capital. This is what is written there:

The Thursday night before Good Friday the people of Leon hold the best annual march ever- The Drunkards Parade! It is very popular to start at midnight at the Cathedral, take part in the parade and stay out all night and stay up for the Good Friday marches which start very early in Plaza Mayor.
The main square of Leon is nice, though not as impressive as those in Salamanca, Madrid...
It is located to the east from the Cathedral, and around it you can find many charming narrow old streets to walk around.
If you are around Leon in the fall you will undoubtedly need to make several intermediate cafe stops to warm your hands on a toasty cup of your favorite beverage. The cafes here are splendid and if you want to try a Spanish beverage go ahead and reconnect with your inner kid by having a cup of Cola Cao. It is similar to hot chocolate, but really creamy and good! Here is a rare glimpse of me doing just that!
Sometimes I work as a Summer Counsellor (Monitor de Tiempo Libre in Spanish) and I go camping with children. We visit the surroundings of ÁVILA (villages and towns nearby like El Tiemblo, Cebreros, Navaluenga...)very often because there are Nature Spaces really amuzing to visit, lot of places very green and with a lot of marshes(pantanos) and rivers.
