Near the old city - away from the noise
This was our choice to stay in Salamanca during our weekend and I have to say that was really a treatment, not only because its emplacement but also as a four stars hotel it came to be better than expected!
We had a beautiful big double room with a big terrace looking towards the cathedral.
The Abba Fonseca hotel offers also the parking place inside the hotel itself - however, it is a bit difficult to find out as you go, because it is not clear addressed. Once you have parked there, it is very worth it for the money paid - because you can go most of the places to visit by foot from the hotel.
Unique Quality: We got impressed by the big spacious room we had and also for the views from out terrace.
The emplacement of the hotel is also very good as well as the building hotel itself.
The service was also very good and helpful.

Modern hotel in a building plenty of history
I had to spend a night in Salamanca as I had a business meeting next morning. I actually choose this hotel as it was close to the meeting's place, but I probably will try to book it again if I return to Salamanca (next time I hope to have more time to enjoy this beautiful city).
The hotel is located in the historical centre of Salamanca, and it includes a significant part of the building of the Salamanca's "Colegio Maestro Avila" at the Square of San Blas. A large part of the 16th century old building has been respected. It was the first university college in Salamanca. Inside, you'll find a totally remodeled hotel, with all modern facilities.
I cannot speak about restaurant/breakfast as I did not use these.
As a summary, a standard 4-star hotel, mainly business oriented, but in a charming building, a few minutes walking from the Plaza Mayor and other sights. Good Special offers booking trough Abba's webpage, for instance the "Abba Ticket" Double room 59,00 euros (+ VAT). Valid for weekends, long weekends, Easter, summer and Christmas, check availability of this offer on other dates.
