city of light
by j_laurent
La Plaza Mayor on a clear, beautiful night...it glows gently, beautifully. If you ever visit Salamanca, spend time at the Plaza Mayor during the day, and at night..it is gorgeous. Spending time with the close friends I made from around the world-every moment I spent with them was wonderful. If you are considering studying abroad, go to Salamanca-it is a city full of international students.
The two-cheek kiss
by fairy_dust
We don't usually do that in Canada (except in Quebec), but often, if you're greeting someone you give each other a kiss on each cheek. People also do this when leaving. It's a common custom in many places in Europe (except Scandinavia).
FROM ZAMORA it is a short bus...
by davidcross
FROM ZAMORA it is a short bus ride to Bragança in Portugal with its Citadella placed above the town.
This is cheating a bit as it does mean planning for the right day (hence Monday!) and staying a night - but it is why I went to Zamora in the first place.
Restaurante Dulcinea
by SusanneBeck about Restaurante Dulcinea
Good service, nice atmosphere and good prices.. what more do you need? Menu del dia for 8 euros! Choice of 3 courses. I had the salad for the starter and it was absolutely delicious. Don´t go for the soup - it´s disgusting! It looks like water with egg yolks and bread floating around and tastes horrible! I had the 'tortilla de jamon' next which came with chips. That was nice and then I followed with ice-cream.
Universidad de Salamanca
