They call this a chapel...
by belgianchocolate
Among the first builing we walked up to
after putting our luggage in the hotel was
the 'Capilla Maria Reparadora'
The chapel of Maria reparative :
I did my best to translate that.. ;-)
The facade is quit rich and being a chapel
it is quit huge as well.
Her neighbour is the 'museo oriental'.
Both are located with their front towars
a beautifull parc 'campo grande'.
Unfortunately we couldn't get in once.

CASTILLA LEON
by Carmela71
The last time I visited Valladolid was the 14 of october 2000, but my family lives very near in Aranda de Duero (BURGOS), so I visit quite often as my mother used to study here. But I have just been this summer 2001 visiting some castles of the area.
Valladolid, the current capital of Castilla-León, is the largest city in the region. Famous for its beautiful gardens and the solemnity and grace of its Holy Week celebrations, it also has a cathedral and two magnificent Plateresque buildings - the Santa Cruz College and San Gregorio's. Its Sculpture Museum, with an incomparable collection of the works of the greatest Spanish artists from the 16th and 17th centuries, including Berruguete, is one of the most important in the country.
The city and its sourroundings are well known for the prestige of its Castilian Spanish which is heard here: linguistic purity and fine grammar. Writters and poets of great fame have been raised or lived in this city: Miguel de Cervantes, José Zorrilla, Gaspar Nuñez de Arce, Rosa Chacel and Miguel Delibes among them.
