Stayed at this hotel for a week back in June this year. Very hot weather, luckilly we had air-conditioning in our room. The rooms are nicely decorated, and the hotel is very modern. This hotel is situated in the L'Hospitalet de Llobegrat, a quiet industrial area the other side of Montjuic. Opposite the hotel is the excellent Gran Via shopping mall, and there is a metro nearby.

Has anyone done a cruise on the Norwegian Gem? It leaves from Barcelona and goes to Malta, Italy and France. How as your experience? Any surprises? How about freestyle dining, any problems. Thanks for any information.
Have cruised on NCL several times- been pleased with the convenience and informality of the freestyle dining experience. The Gem is one of their newer, larger ships- by all reports, very nice. It is mentioned and somewhat reviewed in the latest Conde Nast Traveler magazine.
A friend and I have booked the same cruise itinerary as you have mentioned, sailing in Nov., as part of a month of travel to Europe and Egypt. I am now looking into hotels in Barcelona to spend the night before departure.
I have cruised on many different lines- but many of my friends and our spouses tend to choose NCL most often for the reasonable prices and friendly service. It is not 5 star luxury, but I enjoy the ports and many of the shipboard activities.
If you are taking this cruise soon, and/or staying in Barcelona, I would appreciate it if you would send me your reviews of the experience or reccomendation. Thanks- Fran

Hi, I am going to the same cruise in September (14-22), chose to stay the night before departure in AC SOM Barcelona hotel- very reasonable price and not far from the downtown. The only thing is how to get form airport to the hotel- 12 min drive, may be the easiest way just to take a cab?
