Aparthotel Citadines Ramblas
Stayed at a studio aparthotel room with 2 single beds, small kitchenette w/ mini fridge & microwave, central air and heat. In room bathrooms.
The location is on Las Ramblas so you will be subjected to crowd noise. Even though my room was on a side street, it was only few rooms away from Las Ramblas so I could hear noise. This is from what I remember since I stayed there in 1999. But since then the hotel must have had upgraded to double pane windows by now.
Nice central location. Having microwave and mini fridge is a really helpful convenience.

cheap but NOT worth it!
The best thing going for this place is the location. Otherwise.......we spent our first three nites sleepless due to the LOUD music coming from the resturant next door......it was closed, but the music played on. Catalin version of elevator music. Staff was unwilling to deal ( nobody else complained....) until I insisted......finally, at 1AM, they told us they'd move us to another room.....with a single bed, and we'd have to pay an extra cleaning fee.
THEN....we went bathless for the remainder of the stay, due to the disgusting brown water that came out of the faucets. Again, staff was unconcerned (It's NEVER happened before......probably only rust.....run the water for a while and it should clear.......it didn't)
These rooms come with a kitchen, but using any of the appliances in tandem cause a breaker to trip.
Internet connections are PAINFULLY slow, and staying connected for longer than 30 minutes at a time was impossible.
The best thing we found the staff did was perform the shoulder shrug of indifference. And they didn't even do that all that well..

Citadines Hotel in Barcelona
Hi all,
I am new to this site, it is reall great. So much information!
I will be in Barcelona for a week at the end of May with my wife, we are thinking about booking an appart. at the Citadines Apart Hotel?
Does anyone been to this place? Any comments on it?

It's called the Gat Xino and it opened last summer.
I booked at Unviversal Hotel in late March... I heard it is good too.

Don't know this one, but have stayed at other Citadines elsewhere, and been very happy with them.
