by lacole We stayed at Hotel Silver for the last 6 out of 15 days of our honeymoon in Spain. Hotel Silver is a great place to stay if you don't want to spend a lot of money, but looking for a great quality, clean, safe, and convenient place to stay while visiting Barcelona. The only complaint I did have was the noise from the elevator (which I actually didn't hear, my husband did). It was nothing to keep you up though. It is a 3 minute walk from the Metro and 3 metro stops from La Rambla. There are plenty of restaurants, mostly local, however there are nicer ones you just need to know where to look. The staff was wonderful, they helped with restaurant recommedations, trip planning and went out of their way to make you feel at home. It was like they already new you. The room was a little tight, but very cozy. I would recommend Hotel Silver and definately will return.
Located in Barcelona's Greenwich village (Gracia area), this hotel is surrounded by shops and restaurants. If you wanted to cook your own food, there was fridge, stove, sink and microwave in the room. But if you didn't want to use it or see it you could *** the sliding glass door and it's out of your sight. I enjoyed eating breakfast in the garden and practicing my spanish with Toni(the hostess) and other staff members who helped me with my spanish. There is free interenet and lots of brochures with things to do.

 | Aparthotel Silver: Great location

The Silver Aparthotel is perfectly located in my opinion: just across from the Fontana metro station, the boulevard giving into Passeig de Gracia, then Placa Catalunya, then the Ramblas and the seaside. Couldn't be better! All the great shops are on this boulevard.. Apart from that, the conditions were great, very clean, staff efficient, and I also loved the kitchen where we could cook for ourselves. The only negative thing are the thin walls, from our room we could hear noise, but problem can be solved with earplugs. All in all, I would recommend this hotel, because of its location, price, good conditions.
Great location and closeness to metro station. Theme: HotelPrice: US$120-180 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageDirections: From El Prat take Renfe train to Passeig de Gracia, then metro L3 towards Caneyelles / Trinitad Nova, and get off at Fontana. You can use one trip from the T-10, as long as you do not exceed 1.15 min. One trip is only 0.74 Euros.

We only stayed one-night, in order to have more time right in the city, as we were travelling with our friends fr Heidelberg and had an apartment about 60 miles outside Barcelona. We were very happy with everything about the hotel; easy to get to via a short metro ride, decent size room and bath, with a window that opened out onto a private courtyard; of course every usual amenity, TV, toiletries, free computer use in the lobby. The reception people were friendly and helpful.
The breakfast bar had a full selection of fruits, cereals, breads, jams, eggs, etc., etc., and opened out onto the courtyard, where you could get a table if the weather permitted. I wish I had taken some photos, but this trip was prior to joining VT and I didn't think it necessary.
