Airport transportation

by katepet

Hello from Athens
We have made a reservation for 6 people to Hotel Amister, Avenida Roma.
Pls inform us which is the best way to catch the hotel from BCN airport (public transportation, airport shuttle, etc.)
Thanks in advance.

Re: Airport transportation

Kaleespera, Kathy. Here you have some information. Aerobus goes from T1 and T2 to the center of the city, ticket costs 5.05€ one way, check the frequency at the airport. Municipal TMB buses, number 46, have a better schedule I believe, going from 5 o´clock in the morning to 00:15 midnight, serving both terminals. NiteBus N17 goes to Barcelona from 21:50 to 04:50 from T1. Barcelona Airport Trainstation (RENFE) has a train every 30 minutes to the city itself, and the stops are as follows: Clot, Passeig de Gracia, Barcelona Sants.

Thanks both of you for your replies.
My problem is if we can catch the hotel on feet from Sans station.
Katerina.

Re: Airport transportation

Hotel is situated around 500m-600m (aprox. half a kilometer) from the Sants station, so I would say it is walkable distance, depending of course on the amount of luggage you are carrying.

Re: Airport transportation

by Belsaita

I will say it's a bit more (probably 1 Km, so 15 min walking)
It's a straight walk along Avinguda de Roma. Just be sure you leave the station from its "Plaça dels Països Catalans" side. It should be OK if you don't have much luggage. It's a very safe area of town.

Re: Airport transportation

Thank you.
Your replies are very helpfull.
We have desided to book a shuttle between airport and our hotel.
The price is 65 euro and i thind it's reasonable for 6 people.
Katerina.

Travel Tips for Barcelona

Preparing your trip

by Belsaita

.

There is too much too see and experience! It's very difficult to advise what to prioritize, want are the “must sees”, as each one have it's own tastes, preferences, budget…

When planning your trip to Barcelona, I suggest you doing a little research at these sites:

- Barcelona City Council webpage: www.bcn.cat

You'll find there a complete guide to the city events, you can search at the "diary" . You can look for events in a given date, do specific searches, or just see the highlights.

In addition you have loads of interesting info about places, itineraries, etc in the "turisme" section.

- Another good website with tourist info: Barcelonaturisme

- TMB , Barcelona public transports services: TMB.net , there you have also links with suggestions of routes around the main sites of interest, transport cards, prices, etc.

Sitges.

by Maurizioago

Sitges is a beautiful sea side town only 35 kilometers south of Barcelona. It has a long beach, several restaurants, cafes and shops.

In this town there are three museums to visit. These were closed when we went there, because of a public holiday. One of the museums (or two...I don't know) is in the Maricel Palace. This is made of a group of buildings behind the old church. This palace looks like a white citadel.

I went to Sitges from Barcelona by train. I took it from Passeig de Gracia train station. You could also take one from Sants station.

The magic of Torredembarra is...

by sa-mi

The magic of Torredembarra is also the magic of Roman Tarragona, the lively historic capital; the magic of the Císter excursion route, including the Royal Monasteries of Santes Creus and Poblet; the magic of the olympic modernity of Barcelona; the magic of the winegrowing areas inland; the magic of its folklore; the magic of the Ebro Delta. But, above all, it is the inherent magic of Torredembarra: the peace of the beaches, the serenity of the sea, the luminous light which falls on everything, the richness of its gastronomy, the historic buildings, lively variety of its cultural and festival traditions, the balanced contrast between old and new...

Up the track to Nuria

by atufft

from Barcelona, a train can be taken to Ripoll, and further on to Nuria, which sits in a valley of the Pyrennes Mountains. The stone village is quaint and has a great view of the mountains above. Judging by the architecture of the roofline, I'd say this village gets a fair amount of snow in winter, but we had visited it with friends in July.
