We looked forward to coming home to our hotel everyday, it is that wonderful! In fact, in his ideal world my hubby would rather spend the whole day just lounging around in our room or in the pool area, but alas! I have to drag him to get up each day and go sightseeing with me ;).
The staff specially at the reception area are very helpful and can speak English. The room and bed are cleaned and made up everyday ( not unless you request not to),and the drinks on the fridge are stacked up everyday.
I would recommend their breakfast as well. It is like a feast fit for a king. There is so much variety to choose from....bacon,egg,chorizos,asparagus,salami,cereals,fruits,croissants,yoghurt,different variety of bread, etc. And there are unending availabilty of drinks /refreshments to choose from....orange/pineapple/peach juice, cappucino, water, hot chocolate, cafe late, all types of tea, etc...
Unique Quality: The location of this hotel is really good. It is like a haven away from crowds, noise and madness of the city. It is on the edge of the Forum area, facing the sea. And there is a very nice and clean beach about 50 meters away, which we go to almost everyday.
We chose a city view room, which offered a wonderful view of the Sagrada and the rest of Barcelona, or you can have a sea view as well if you want to. The lap pool on the 23rd floor offers an amazing sea view.
Different modes of transport is literally on the hotel's doorstep. The Tourist bus Green route has one of it's stops outside the hotel. While the tram stop is literally a stone throw away. The El Maresme/ Forum Metro is less than 5 minutes walk away.
Directions: The tall building next to the Diagonal Mar Shopping Center
It’s a cool hotel. I stayed there once and enjoyed great views from my room. As per location also hotel is fantastic. This hotel has approx 400 rooms. The staff is very friendly. I would love staying there happily again.
Not the most central but served by a new station on Line 5 (yellow) this is a short ride from Jaume I or La Rambla
Newer hotel, this was at the pricier end but worth the money. Breakfast was about 17 Euros extra per person, we just went across the road to the cafe for breakfast
Website currently has some out of season offers including free breakfast buffet
Unique Quality: Bright comfortable bar, great shower, free minibar (beer and soft drinks) in the room replaced daily, very comfortable, great views of the city, built next to a shopping mall and an easy comute to the centre by underground. Would stay again.
Directions: Very bottom of the huge Avenida Diagonal
This hotel is easily the best hotel I've stayed in for the money. Do not book this hotel through their website as rooms go for around 250-300 euros a night. Visit the website www.spainbookers.com. There I was able to book rooms for around 75 euros a night. The hotel was fantastic, there is a free mini-bar in every room which is restocked daily. They have an inhouse spa, where you can book a message for around 45 euros for one hour. When you enter the hotel you walk into the lobby and there is a bar off to your left. On the third floor there is also a really nice restaurant, that serves an incredible breakfast buffet. The spa is located on the third floor, in addition to the second pool and hot tub. The 23rd floor contains the first outdoor pool, which is shaped like a rectangle, and has a beautiful view of the Barcelona coast. This hotel is situated next to the new convention center and only a short walk from the beach. It is attached to a big mall with a nice food court if you want a quick bite to eat. The hotel is newly contructed and has a very modern look. The rooms contain electric window shades and there is a large glass wall separating the bathroom from the bedroom. If you want privacy you simply drop the electric divider to separate the bathroom. We had an incredible stay at this hotel. Room service was fast and the hotel staff was helpful. The hotel is a 7 euro taxi ride from Las Ramblas and there is also an underground station nearby. The only negatives were that the hotels free internet connection was very slow most of the time and they only have two computers. Also, when looking near the beach there is a small industrial area with a couple factories of some sort. They kind of hurt the view, but the beach is still very nice.

WE arrived at the hotel at about 11 and were checked in immediately. 18th Floor!!! AMAZING! The views were fantastic. We could see right over the whole of Barcelona. We didnt have breakfast or dinner in the hotel as it was VERY expensive but that means we were able to get out and about. The rooms were very different, glass walls in the bathrooms with electronic blinds that you could pull down for some privacy. The windows also had 2 electronic blinds to give you a nice dark room when you wanted to sleep...
Loved it all..
Unique Quality: The Views!
Oh and the free mini bar - had 1 beer and refreshments, re filled every day...
Has 2 pools and a gym..
Directions: Get the metro(yellow line) to El Maresme Forum its just across the road beside the Diagonal Mar shopping centre!
Don`t forget to dress yourself with warm clothes, because the temperature is low .
It`s really cold.
But that was not the point I was not satisfied. Don`t forget, there was snow in Bcn and it is very difficult, and expensive, to make such a high room warm. In my opinion, that is the price you must to pay for the design.
The reason, why I have to say:
"Shame on you Barcelona Princess":
was, that they did not have olives there, but on the card.
I never saw other people eating olives! And that for a 4 Stars hotel in Bcn, in Spain!
Last not least one little thing, Barcelona Princess , you should think about:
you need barkeepers with fast and open eyes!
The times I was in that bar, it was not easy to order something...........And that was not only in my opinion
The bar was closed.
I was a little bit disappointed, because I want to have a drink in that bar and enjoy the great view.
There are 2 saunas (men and woman different), 1 whirlpool, 2 swimming pool and 1 fitness center in the hotel.
the sauna: empty. I never met people in the sauna. The temperature in the man sauna: about 80 degree.
Temperature in the woman sauna: about 60 degree ( to cold). You have 2 possibilities: use the man sauna, if you don`t want to do that, open the small box in front of the sauna and change the temperature. Be carefully, there are different programm possibillities. But it needs abour 3 hours, to changes the temperature from 60 to 80 degrees......I
The pool: one the 23th floor, you can swim outside. I never saw people swimming. The temperature is cold, I went in that pool sometimes, but always directly after the sauna.
I think, it is up to you to wear swim clothes or not in the pool, but do that only if it`s dark .
The second pool is direct to the sauna, very small, but if you are alone, coming from the sauna, it is very good. You can rest in the pool and watch inside the AC hotel beside. Temperature is the same as the pool in the 23 th floor.
Whirlpool:
outside at the 3. floor
outside, definitly to cold. Here I met 2 swedisch men, they told me that they are here the 3 th day. They had askevery day the reception to make the water warmer, but it was still definitly too cold.......
Fitness center: I think, it was closed....There was nobody during my visit
FAZIT:
Pro: all what you need is there, and all is empty
Con: the temperature of the pools, the whirlpool and the woman sauna
And: there was no personal, I wondered if there is an accident or something else: then nobody will hear you or can help.........As a woman alone, you must be carefull!
Sorry, Barcelona Princess, but I think you need minimum one person, who look after the spa!!!
I had a cheap arrangement : The flight from Frankfurt to Bcn and return and 3 nights in the Princess for only 340 Euros. So for me , it was not expensive.
The regular prices are higher, try to book this hotel on the internet , (epedia and other).
The architecture is great, that was one of my reasons to book that hotel.
The views from the hotel (try to get a room on the floors 19 and higher...) are great!
Go to the outdoor pool at the 23 th floor and enjoy the view.
Put warm clothes with you.... more details will follow........
Unique Quality: great views, metro, bus and tram are direct at this hotel
taxi from airport cost about 25 Euros
one of the biggest shopping center (more than 240 different shops inside) in front of the hotel
a spa center (2 pools, one on the 23.floor).Details of the spa-center will follow
Directions: Metro linea 4, direction La Pau, station el Maresme forum.
was thinking of staying here, the hotel looks great but i don't know where it as the website only provides an address: Av. Diagonal, 1
is it a good location for beach and nightlife, and has anyone stayed there. have not found any reviews on VT or tripadvisor
thanks
nav
It is located next to Forum Area, close to the beach, in one of the newests area of the city, so nightlife (even daylife) virtually inexistent.
Anyway, well communicated with city centre by public transport.
when are you going there?....I am going in february to Barselona too)
