Excellent location, low-key but good value

BE Barcelona is a local chain of Budget hotels and hostels with a handful of hotels in several places in Barcelona. BE Barcelona Ramblas was the first of its kind and due to its location still a very popular place. For 25 EUR per person per night we got a clean room with an ensuite bathroom and TV, just a few metres away from the Ramblas and in walking distance of many other places of interest. The room is really basic, little decoration or luxury, but comfortably enough to have an enjoyable stay. A breakfast was included which consisted of toast, jam, ham (or something out of a plastic sheet looking like ham) and instant coffee out of a microwave. Its fine enough for me, but surely the worst breakfast I have received in a hotel. Anyway, I wasn't here for breakfast, but have a a good sleep and to get to the most interesting places in Barcelona. And if you book well in advance, you'll get a real good bargain deal. I was positively surprised by this place and would recommend it to any budget tourist coming for Barcelona.

Is there any good hostal near the CCIB international convention centre,On the corner of Avda. Diagonal and Rambla Prim) 08019 Barcelona.

Or suggest a good one easily accessible from city centre

Diagonal Mar, the area where the CCIB is located, is Barcelona's new business and residential area. There are no hostales or pensiones there.

The only choice there are the big first-rate, business-oriented hotels such as AC, Hilton or Princess. No budget accommodation or B&B's.

BARCELONA CHEAP RENT!?

by nachfee

I have been checking for ren in Barcelon and they seem very expensive.
My friends and I are trying to find a flat for rent between beginning of May and end of July.
is it possible to find a cheap flat for 300-500 per month in a website?
they all seem to be 400 per week.

We need to save lots of money!
Of anyone knows about a cheap place please contact me!

thanks!!! :)

Have you read some pages about Barcelona here on VT?

In Barcelona, 500 € x month must have been the price of a rent ten years ago.

300 € is currently the price for a week, if you rent a flat for a month or longer.

Re: BARCELONA CHEAP RENT!?

by Belsaita

Yes this would have been possible 10 years ago... but Barcelona is the most expensive city in Spain to live. 500 € per month is the bare minimum for 1-room mini apartments in long-term rentals. Of course short-term rentals are a lot more expensive, and you can consider yourself very lucky if you find something below 300 € per week... and I'm afraid you are looking with too short notice so the best deals will be already booked

Maybe (just maybe) you can find something cheaper in nearby towns (not the coastal ones that may be even more expensive)

Best of luck!

what is the best and most popular place to stay in Barcelona for tourists - B&B or hostel??? and which one is the cheapest???

Re: BARCELONA CHEAP RENT!?

The B&B concept, as sold in England or Scotland, is not much developped in Spanish cities.

We have a wide range of competitive hotel accommodation choices, ranging from "hostales" and "pensiones" (not to be confused with youth hostels, which exist and are called "albergues") to 5-star hotels.

Take the time and google for references such as "hostal barcelona". Pensiones are on the lowest level, and most of them do not even have websites and are quite reluctant to make reservations.

Short-term apartments are often presented as a the best and cheapest solution, which is still to be proven. Apartments are conveninet only when occupancy is based on 3 or more people.
