Barcelona Airport to Girona (airport or downtown)

by Permanente

Does anybody know how can I reach Girona (preferably downtown, but also Girona Airport would be fine) by bus or train? My plane arrives to BCN at 8:30 AM. Thanks!

If you prefer train to bus, you could take a local* line BCN Aeroport to B.Passeig de Gracia and there change to Regional** train to G.

Thanks. And if I want to get to this bus station Estacio Nord form Barcelona Airport, how do I do it the best way? Taxi or is there another bus to get me there? Thanks!

Estacio Nord from Barcelona Airport, best way depends on your needs

A taxi wd be around 25-30 euros,
or you cd take AeroBus to Plaza Catalunya, then it is 1 metro stop - you cd even walk it if you manage with the luggage,
or you cd try local trains to Arc de Triomf.

As far I undesrtnad, you want to travel from BCN airprt to Girona donwtown

If this is correct, the easiest, cheapest and probably fastest way will be train. Take the train at BCN airport to Passeig de Gracia (trains every 30 min). Change trains there to Girona (direction Port Bou/Cerbere, trains about every 20 min, you will not wait more than 10-15 min at the platform). You can change trains at other stations (Sants, Clot...) but Passeig de Gracia can't be easier: it has only 2 platforms, you can't even have to change

You can purchase tickets for all the trip at the airport station, less than 10 € total trip

The train will eave you in Girona center, very close to the Medieval Quarter

and just now I realise that freland already gave you this option above....

Travel Tips for Barcelona

Barcelona Tip

by Tolik

...strolling streets (and squares) of Barcelona is a pleasure. On the picture - Placa Reial. Laid out in 1850s, the Italianite square is sudded with tall palm trees and decorated iron lamps (by the Gaudi, of course). They say, there is a coin and stamp market on Sanday morning (10 AM - 2PM). The small streets stretching toward the sea from the square are intriguing but dangerous.

LA SARDANA

by Hosell

This is La Sardana,a typical catalan dance. When I was walking by the Barri Gotic, just at Town Hall square many people were dancing a few sardanas there. As you can see in the picture,is a quiet dance and everybody make a circle with the hands.

Packing List

by Svitata

If you intend to take the metro from the airport to where you're staying, I would advise you to use a backpack instead of carrying a luggage cos the Barcelona metro system is very unfriendly for luggage travellers!! Hiking For non-Spanish speakers, it is extremely advisable to carry a little Spanish language book with you! A lot of people in Barcelona still do not speak much English even though they receive millions of tourists each year.

Museu de Carrosses Funebres

by vivalasteph

Yes, this is a hearse museum! It might sound odd or creepy but this is one of the most intriguing collections I've ever seen. It occupies the basement of a nondescript office building next door to the city's funerary services. You ask at reception to view the collection, wait to be escorted to a tiny elevator, then look in amazement as the door opens onto a well-designed display. There are carriages dating back to the 18th century, complete with horses and footmen, decked out in period costume, as well as photographs from the mid 19th century of the actual carriages in procession.

Don't be timid, it is truly worth it!

Cereria Subira - oldest shop in Barcelona

by sue_stone about Cereria Subira

Whilst you are exploring in the old town, make sure you pop in and have a look at the oldest shop in Barcelona, Cereria Subira. It dates back to 1761.

Cereria Subira is a candle shop, and it is filled with a large selection of colourful candles. Whatever your candle needs I am sure they can help you - they have everything from your standard long table candle, to multi-coloured animals and even Mickey Mouse. Even if you are not in the market for candles it is still worth checking out the oldest shop in town.
