Question about Casa Beethoven

by Paris92

This is Courtney, VT's PR manager and I have a question for you for a possible press release. I'm trying to find out more about the music store, Casa Beethoven. I'd like to know more about the store--specifically what they carry (I know they carry sheet music, but I'd like to know what else--do they stock CDs, instruments, etc.? Also, I'd like to know what the name of the neighborhood in which they are located. I know their address is C/ La Rambla, 97, 08002.

Thanks so much!
C

Also, if they have concerts or anything like that, I'd like to know that, too.
Thanks!

Hi Courtney,

This is a very old store located in Las Ramblas (the famous street, now ultra-touristy). The district is Ciutat Vella (Old Town)

As far I know they only sell sheet music and books related to music (history, pedagogy...). The shop is small and I can't remember seeing there instruments or CDs but I may be wrong. Its website does not provide much info: http://www.casabeethoven.com/english/beethoven-botiga.htm

I may have a look next time I'm in the town center, and give you first hand info. when you need it?

If you are interested in old shops in Barcelona I do have a few tips (but not about this particular shop) :))

Thank you, Isa--don't drive yourself too crazy--I'm sending the release in tomorrow so don't go out of your way!

Travel Tips for Barcelona

by Mr_Furious

Visit the parc Güell, I found it the most impressive sight in town! Being chased by the undercover police on the Ramblas because I didn't have a licence plate on my Belgian 50cc scooter. After some discussion these policemen (who worked for a anti-theft unit) saw I was obviously not a thief and said that I was free to go, but that the other 'normal' would undoubtedly fine me. Yipes!

La Pedrera

Not a straight wall to be found here in this one-of-a-kind apartment building. Go inside! The floors undulate, the doors are rounded, all surfaces curve!! My favorite work of architecture by Gaudi, hands down. Will somebody get me a price on an apartment here???

Al fondo de la plaza de La...

by fga

by Marinel

The RAMBLA is, of course, the best known landmark of Barcelona, and deservedly so. Meandering down from the Pl. de Catalunya to the Columbus statue, filled with newspaper kiosks, flower and animal stalls, and all sorts of artists, it is undoubtedly the place where everyone comes together, both tourists and locals, from the most inconspicuous to the most exaggerated representative of all sorts of urban tribes.

Expo Souvenirs

by nyonnetti about Souvenirs

I got a lot of little souvenirs from this shop on the Ramblas. The guys working the shop were very nice and eager to help. It contains pretty much the same souvenirs you find in the other gift shops but usually a bit cheaper and we always could get them to give us a deal (10-20% off) on the things we bought. Souvenir gifts, including ceramics, mugs, t-shirts, ect. varies on the item
