Catalonia Albeniz! Home away from Home!!

This hotel is fantastic! When we got out of the metro, we first thought we were in a random area! However, the station is about a 2 minute walk (at a slow pace) to the Hotel! On arrival, the desk clerk was really helpful, and thank god -spoke english!!! The downstairs was really pretty. It is a small hotel yes, and the photos do make it out to have a completely separate breakfast area. But nevertheless, its reallly nice!!

When we were shown into our room, i was really suprised to see that it was actually really nice. I mean i always think the worse just to expect the unexpected!! The room was a good size for two people, extremely clean. It had floorboards, a closet which was big enough!! lamps, and a tv! Oh and even though most of the channels were in spanish, they do have CNN!( not that you're going to be sitting in your room watching tv all day)

The bathroom really surprised me actually! I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to toilets. They have to be clean! and i like nice furnished ones! I mean you have a shower to be clean, so your surroundings should also be so. The bathroom, was really nice, as it was big (we were two girls, so we need a big bathroom!!) and had a huge mirror.

Moving onto the hotel as a whole. Breakfast is really good, and i would take full advantage of it!!
The staff are actually Brilliant!!! I really dont understand why they haven't been goven an award or something. One of the girls especially ( i called her Max because her full Catalan name was always difficult to pronounce) was so sweet! She told me the best places to go, and also helped me with sapanish phrases!

I would honestly use this hotel. Ok so you might be put off because its 3 stars. But seriously! I've been to 5star hotels.... and this is just as good, if not better because of the service!! Oh and i need to mention that it is safe, and because the bearist station is on the red line, you can get to the major sites easily.

Has anyone stayed here recently who can tell me about it, and also is the nearest metro station the Sagrada Familia? Any info appreciated, arriving in Barcelona on Valentines day, booked in to Les 7 Portes on the evening but after that will be looking for good places to go for the next 3 nights, suggestions please!

Near by you have a few stations, but the best way to know it is at www.tmb.net , the public transport at Barcelona. 7 portes is one of my favorites restaurant, just infront of it is the "el born" very nice atmosphere by night, clubs, people and so. Another way to stay in Barcelona is to stay in an apartment, it's cheaper, and normaly at the center town. Check this one http://visit-bcn.com/inglaterra/opcion_gaudi.htm. Good luck.
