Great location, good hotel, tiny rooms
With its new name of Catalonia Plaza Cataluña, the hotel has an excellent location, right in the middle of the touristic action.
The rooms are quite small; it can be seen that the hotel designers put a lot of thinking in offering the most pleasant stay in such small rooms, and they succeeded well. This came at the expense of a small bed, no chairs & table (there is simply no room for that), and room for only one suitcase.
Some additional cons were the too short bed (I am 180 long), lack of an electrical kettle and of tissue paper in the bathroom. Also the hotel has only one elevator (we stayed at the 5th floor), and there were additional stairs to the room.
All in all, a very good experience, may be not recommended for the more claustrophobic people.
Unique Quality: Other pros are the excellent room, bathroom and bed light, very good mattress, good heating, very nice bathroom with a huge mirror, safe in the room, WiFi which worked well most of the time, plenty of hangers in the cupboard, everything spotlessly clean, most staff speaking English and fairly helpful.
Our room had a nice balcony, which was a very nice touch; we had the breakfast included, and it was rich – even including wine.

Great value for maoney hotel located at the heart of Barcelona, just off Plaza Catalunya. this hotel belongs to the recognised Barcelona chains hotels called Catalonia Hotels with several hotels around the city.
