Avoid this hostel!!!
I spent one night in this dirty hostel two weeks ago. When I entered the share room I was immediately scared to sit down on the bed, because at the reception they said to us that we got the sheets at 5 p.m. in the afternoon. And here is a result: I got scabies! Otherwise, the breakfast was poor, staff was quite unpleasant, the only advantage was the location in the centre... But who wants scabies, right??!!

Very cheap stay
The Centre Rambles Hostel is perhaps one of the cheapest stays in Barcelona if you don't mind sharing with other people - i don't think anywhere else you could stay so cheap just 2 mins from La Ramblas.
Not one of the best Hostels i stayed in - and i was quite sure someone was trying to take money from under my pillow in the night - they may do smaller rooms like for 2 people - not sure.
The problem with me is i usually like to have accomodation booked before i arrive (unless camping) because i once arrived in Amsterdam with nowhere to stay for less than £100 a night when there was a big American Congress happening - i mean they even took up all the hostels.
Unique Quality: None really - just a cheap bed

My girlfriend and i stayed at Auto Hogar for 5 nights in july & august. The hotel is located in a central area just 5-10 min walk to Rambla (that was great), the hotel is ok we stayed at the second floor with the view of Paralell street, was a litlle noise but nothing major. The staff were very helpfull, and the room was cleaned daily, also the sheets changed once a day. The breakfast was continental with plenty of croisssants and various types of cofee and drinks. The hotel is located in Raval district, which is considered to be not the safes district in Barcelona, but we had no problem, we just minded our own business. Anyway we enjoyed very much and we recommend it.
Great Convenient Hotel

We have just returned from 3 nights at Auto Hogar, (and i read the reviews before we went), so, i had an idea of what to expect, i must say we were very pleased with the Hotel, friendly staff, someone always on the desk, clean basic room with maid service daily, the breakfast was better than i had expected after reading some moaner's review, especially when you think of how reasonable the price to stay is. Convenient location and theres a safe. Would definitely recommend and come back one day.

The hotel Auto Hogar is in a convenient location for all amenities. Metro close by. Family friendly. Excellent welcome by staff. A good basic hotel to explore Barcelona.

My wife and me stayed 3 consecutive days this last August, plus one unplanned day before we left back home and we only have lots of good words to say about the hotel, the staff, the location and the good feeling we have had during our stay at the hotel! You get what you pay for...
We paid a very good rate and as it was a stag weekend we werent too bothered about luxury. The rooms were fine, clean and serviced daily. We were at the back of the hotel so noise wasnt an issue.
Location wise it is good, a 10 min walk to Las Ramblas and also a metro stop at the front door. I didnt have breakfast here so cant comment on that.
Reception staff were a bit slow to deal with you, but cooperative.
Above average rating for the low cost.

This was a lovely, clean hotel. The rooms were very simple, but spacious and neat. The balcony was a welcome surprise. Stayed two nights and enjoyed them both, especially after having a horrific experience in a London hotel. Short walk to the subway. Would recommend this hotel to others. The door lock was the only thing I would be leary of, it was an old key system, and it didn't seem too sturdy.

Airport Shuttle company

Hello,
My family and I (10 of us total) will be arriving at BCN airport @ 22:00 in July. Is there an airport shuttle company that we can use that will accommodate 10 of us, with luggage and get us to our hotel, Auto Hogar Hotel, on Avenida Paral.lel for a reasonable rate? Would getting taxis be better? Also, are the shuttle vans at the airport reasonable?

I think an air conditioned Minibús 16 would suit your party best.
Everybody together and no further hassle with 3 taxis or else.
