Barcelona's Best Hostel

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on June 3, 2011

I stayed in Equity Point Centric for one night as part of my interail experience, and the service and faciliates they offer are superb ! Really good value for money. The hostel is centrally located to all the main tourist attraction, with the tourist buses stopping right outside the hostel. The place itself was full of like-minded young interailing travellers, mostly Americans at the time. Bedrooms are clean, modern and spacious. Bathroom are fantastic. Staff members are friendly, but were kinda too busy checking in people.. So I kinda didnt get a chance to speak with them. Morning Food is exceptional great also !!!

Unique Quality: Very Clean, modern, friendly, really good continental breakfast, bar in hostel and 20 minutes complimentary internet for every visitory

Directions: Near Passeig de Gracia train station or Green Line Metro. Not too far from Maria Callas Gardins

Barcelona's best hostel?

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)

If you're coming to Barcelona because you like architecture, and want a fairly cheap place to stay, I'd recommend Centric Point (www.centricpointhostel.com)- it's on Passeig de Gracia, only a few doors away from the famous modernist buildings of the Manzana de la Discordia (which includes Gaudi's Casa Battlo). When I stayed there I could just see La Pedrera, up the road, from my dorm window. It's also convenient for the metro (there is a stop almost directly outside), which is useful as you have so little time in the city, on a major bus route (the bus to Parc Guell stops right outside) and is an easy walk (only a few minutes) into the centre. The rooms range from singles / doubles to 12-person dorms (dorm beds are currently €25 a night, including breakfast). What's more, it is also very clean & new, and has a really good (and cheap!) bar upstairs!

Unique Quality: Fantastic location, clean rooms with free bedding, friendly staff, good bar (and very reasonably priced too - pay for drinks at the vending machine & take your receipt to the bar!), secure (swipe-card entry to rooms, free lockers, decent luggage room), good buffet breakfast, free internet access...

Directions: It's a massive place right on the corner of Psg de Gracia & Consell de Cent, so if you're taking the metro, use the Consell de Cent exit.

Centric Point Youth Hostel Barcelona

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on June 22, 2006

This hostel is ideal location as it is located two minutes from city center (Plaza Catalunya). Some good things I observed during three nights' stay at Centric Points are that it's very clean and has friendly staff. There's an Aerobus A1 stop just opposite hostel, from where you can take bus to Barcelona airport. The prices are reasonable and it's open twenty-four hours. It is one hundred meters from eating outlets and is just opposite to the tourist bus stop where you can take open-top buses for Barcelona sightseeing. Indeed a good option for decent price.

Directions: 2 Minutes walk from Passeig de Gracia (Next Stop of Plaza Catalunya) Metro Station
