Now Known as Medium City Hotel
We stayed in this hotel in mid-May 2011 for 5 days. According to their new website, the hotel was built for the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and received awards for its design. According to the staff, the hotel was originally called the City Park Hotel, but was purchased in the last year and renamed to Medium City Hotel. Overall, we liked the design of the hotel, however, it is starting to show its age and needs a major refit. Carpets were stained and worn. Bathroom fixtures were old but functional. Wall coverings were worn and needed to be replaced. The picture on the wall in front of the bed was missing (mounting screws were in place). The toilet ran constantly for the first 3 days of our stay. The hotel advertises free Wi-Fi in all rooms, but we could only get access by going to the lobby or mezzanine/meeting room level. Public area furniture is worn and in need of replacement. The hotel features a full service restaurant and bar, but no room service. Parking is limited and very tight to maneuver. TV sets were older 15" to 17" CRT models that were prevalent in 1992, but are out-dated in today's market. Our room was dim due to limited lighting. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful when possible.
Unique Quality: Nice overall design. Overlooks a small park. About 100 meters from the Metro station.

Good location, decent hotel.
The City Park Hotel was located in a very convenient location. It was just a couple of blocks from Estació de Sants one of Barcelona's major transportation hubs. Also it is within walking distance of several sites in the city.
The accommodations weren't cheap, but they weren't the most expensive. The room was decent at best with a not-so-comfy bed and tiny space. The bathroom was large and certainly a plus. For what we paid, the room was acceptable. We were also displeased seeing people smoke on the non-smoking floor.
Unique Quality: It was located next to a small park/plaza which was nice and it was just a couple of blocks from Estació de Sants.
