This is now the Confortel Almirante
The room we had was nice enough, but very dark (yes, we had the lights on) and clean. The location is good, about 100 metres to a metro stop and under ten minutes walk to either the waterfront or La Ramblas (depending if you can make it past the great shopping along the way). I suppose the problem is that we had high expectation when we booked a 4 star hotel we expected something a bit special, but the communal areas where a bit run down and the elevators were annoying to work (they didn't work all the time). But would recommend just don't expect too much!

Wouldn't stay again
The room was impressive and the bathroom was amazing, however, the cleaners didn't bother cleaning the bath properly after the last guests and there were strange hairs in my bath, the shower came out like a hose pipe.
I wouldn't stay there again
However, if you do decide to stay here, perhaps mine was a one off, there is a great Italian restaurant if you leave the hotel, turn right and walk about 5 minutes, the food and sangria is amazing!
