Great Stay

We moved here from another hotel in the area, and we were really happy we did! As others have said, the hotel is beautiful! Very modern and comfortable---especially the bed! The front desk staff was very friendly and super helpful. It was very quiet and everything worked. Breakfast offered a nice selection and the wait staff was great. It's a really nice hotel.
We stayed here for work reasons, but it was easy to get into the city to sightsee on the metro. Also, the shopping mall has a food court with decent restaurants.
If you do go to this area for a conference, though, beware of mugging and pickpockets as they were quite successful during the first few days until people became aware of the problem.
Nice hotel... but there is building around so be careful..

Nice hotel, Pool area is nice but is noisy as there is extensive building work. Cranes abound and there is no tranquility there. All rooms on one side of the building are overlooked by builders, therefore no privacy. The rooms are well appointed and the metro and tram are handy. However it will take you a fair amount of time on public transport to get to the major places in this magical city. Beach looks close but is not that convenient. The website mentioned a gym.... it is not built yet!. Therefore a few teething problems but it could well become a good solid addition to the panoply of Barca hotels. Would not recommend at present due to reasons mentioned, but after the building work is finished I would.
Excellent hotel & service

Stayed for 2 nights/3 days and would definitely stay again. Rooms, breakfast, pool & service all excellent. Reception staff extremely helpful. The rooms we stayed in had access to 15th floor lounge with complimentary snacks and drinks which were very good. Easy access to tram and Metro and large shopping centre/restaurants across the road. Some building work going on around hotel but this didn't spoil our enjoyment. Thanks to all staff.
Fantastic

Stayed in a Jacuzzi suite, which was great fun, great rooms, computer with free internet in the room. Only negative things to say is the in room entertainment wasn't up and running yet, so no movies and the maid would knock and come in even if you had put do not disturb sign up and there would also be randomn knocks at the door for no reason, which was a little annoying. But overall a brilliant stay, cant wait to go back!!!
Perfect for Business and Pleasure!

Excellent Hotel! Great rooms that were very modern and comfortable. I was here three days for a conference and it could not have been in a better location. Short walk access to convention center, shopping mall, tram and subway. The staff was very helpful and friendly with excellent knowledge of the city and surrounding area. Breakfast was excellent and with my room I had access to the 15th floor lounge that had beautiful views of the Sea along with refreshments. Free wireless access. Put it all together and the Diagonal Zero is the perfect place for business or pleasure!
Excellent choice for a busines and pleasure stay.

My wife and stayed 9 nights - conference followed by holiday. Very pleasant and clean rooms. Ideally situated for trams and underground and conference centre at Forum.
Pleasant efficient staff, would definitely use again. Colleagues booked more expensive hotels but their facilities were not as good as ours.
Excellent pool facility on roof. Only gripe would be that breakfast on offer was 18euros each! But cafes opposite do croisant and coffee for about 4euro.
Clean, modern and comfortable

Stayed for one week. The hotel is newish? and minimally decorated to a high standard. Staff were helpful and curteous. Didn't eat in the hotel - thought the bar and restaurant prices outrageously high even by what are now relatively high european / Barcelona standards. The immediate area consists of a residential area of flats and is undergoing a development process on the seaward side, an extension of the waterfront with a new marina etc and further hotels under construction so the views from the hotel / ambience are not great (building sites), but noise was not a problem.
There is large shoping mall within 5 min walk with a range of food outlets providing many eating options from average standard modern tapas style restaurants through Japanese, Mexican and Lebanese amongst others to the inevitable McD's.
The El Maresme Forum metro station is 5 mins walk away and from there 15 mins to Jaume which is access to the Cathedral / Old Town area on the clean efficient metro system on which we waited no more than 3 minutes for a train.
The Barcelona Tourist buses stop about 3 mins away on the green route.
excellent hotel nice experience

very nice hotelin a modern district. You can easily reach barcelona center. Nice, though alittle small roof pool, but you can see the sea while sswimming. superb breakfast.
Excellent rooms and great modern style
by TripAdvisor Member johnartblue
Excellent rooms and great modern style will be even better when completely finished. Saying that we din't have any problem with building noise, although the views are a bit bleak, showing alot of rubble. Breakfast was good but expensive, if pre-booked then you save €5. Boys enjoyed the facilties and location near to sea. We had booked for 3 nights and stayed for 5 as we had such a good time.

Tips or seach engines for cheap airfare from LA to Barcelona?
by winzer79
Hello forum folks!
Need some of your expertise in finding budget airfare to Barcelona from Los Angeles for late May. We're traveling from Saturday to the following Sunday and prices that I've seen are about $800-1,000.
Is there a certain time of the day or week that prices are better than others? I've been using sidestep.com and orbitz.com and similar engines today but prices are quite high. Is it impossible to find something w/in the $500-600 range?
Thanks in advance!!

A flight from LAX to Europe (anywhere) $500-$600 range it was years ago when petrol was less then 20 and not around 50 like these days. looking today for May and not monthes ago, I would say 800/1000 USD is already a good fare, little bit less it could be (in May) from East cost but you have to go to East coast (or somewhereelse) so...

I see Continental with fares ranging from USD 600 to USD 900 in that period.
Check their website.

If you leave and return Midweek -- Tuesday -- Thursday you will probably find flights closer to $600. I checked on Travelocity.

Thank you so much for the tips. I'll check them out and continue to search. Does anyone know if certain days, prices are lower such as Tuesday in the morning? I could have sworn I read that somewhere.
Also from any of your experience, how long should I wait for lower fares before purchasing? I'm getting a bit antsy on the prices being almost a month a way.

Leaving May.13th returning 25-26-27 nostop flight NWA from LAX to AMS it would cost 671USD then take a low-cost to Barcellona, check here

<>
more you wait, more they'll go higher, maybe 24/48 hours before (very rare because you've no direct flight) you might find a cheaper price. that's why I wrote <>
there is no direct flight to Barcellona from LAX, also Iberia have changes at Madrid, they may keep same flight# but it does not mean you go ahead with the same plane.
try also any combination with Virgin America + Aer Lingus.
