Barcelona is our first stop in a 25 day tour of Europe.
I would like to purchase some "high end" toiletries such as hairspray, soap, lotion in Barcelona. Where would be the be place to shop for these items?

Thank you.

Regardless if you have all the time in Barcelona or anywhere in Spain, when it comes to shopping for our toiletries or for our guests and friends, we prefer that they or even ourselves we prefer to shop all in one roof which is El Corte Ingles. Easy direction to El Corte Ingles: If you were coming from Las Ramblas, walk up till you get to Plaza Catalunya, just before getting inside the metro look high to your right side and there you will see the nine story department popular store or department called "El Corte Ingles. You will find the everyday toiletries on the first floor as well as in the basement where we have the groceries. These department store is open from 10: in the A.M. till 10: in the P.M. Enjoy your shopping!

Travel Tips for Barcelona

Art/Sculptures around Barcelona

by Marpessa

Barcelona is definitely a city that expresses itself artistically. While out and about in the city make sure you keep your eyes open for some great art and sculptures. Some (like the ones in these photos) you can't really miss.

Along the harbour you can find Roy Lichtensteins 'Barcelona face' that was created for the 1992 Olympics. Close by you will also see the giant lobster sculpture (called 'Gambrinus').

The third photo - well I'm not really sure what it is, I just remember seeing it on my tour and taking a quick photo. As for the fourth photo - that can be found on the roundabout in front of the World Trade Centre. I just liked the look of it, its flow. I think it reminds me of something from the playground when I was in primary school (only obviously much bigger than anything that would have been in a playground).

THE LAND OF GAUDI

by travelgourmet

Antoni Gaudi, a true Catalonia, 1852-1926, is one of the world's most recognized artists, noted for his portrayal of nature in all his works. Gaudi did things with a flourish and the term, gaudy, coming from Antoni Gaudi's works, meaning excessively showy, could well describe his works.

His most famous architectural achievements are the world famous and number one tourist spot in Barcelona, the cathedral Sagrada Familia (Gaudi worked on this project for 43 years, until his death) is still being built , the most beautiful and maybe even bizarre Park Guell with the twisting pathways with mosaics, sculptures, and elaborate fountains (you must sit on the mosaic benches that line the top of the park with a view of the city below), and his two eye catching buildings, La Pedrera (Casa Mila) and Casa Batllo, both on Passeig de Gracia and now open to tourists as museums dedicated to Gaudi. This is most assuredly the land of Gaudi.

Prices are about average, 1day for Parc Aventura and bus only 34 euro/adult
