Cleaning
by Joacim
I must say that I am impressed! The city of Barcelona, at least the parts that I visited, was one of the cleanest city I have ever visited. It was truly amazing to see that each early morning and during the whole day people was out cleaning the streets.
A lot of cities has a lot to learn form Barcelona!

You must come here at night. We happened to catch a water fountain show, with the water dancing to the music. Just fantastic!! I'm not sure if it was a regularly scheduled event during the summer, but it may be.
Topless

Women do often go topless on the beaches here it seemed pretty common, so for those of you who aren't used to it ( my fellow americans) just be aware, and don't stare because no one else does!!! I don't believe that this is an entirely Spanish tradition, I think that northern European women started this trend in the 60s when they came to Spain as tourists. At the time Spain was under rule by the authoritarian and very conservative leader Franco. The topless trend therefore must have gradually evolved over the years. Don't feel pressured to if you don't want to , and again no one stares.
football madness

Do you love football? Then you should visit the home of Barcelona FC, one of the most popular football teams in the world, better known as Barca for friends. Camp Nou is the largest stadium in Europe (it has a capacity of about 100.000 seats!) and the atmosphere is amazing during a match.
The museum is open daily 10.00-18.30 (Sunday till 14.00) and the entrance fee is 8,50 euros but if you to visit the stadium too you have to pay 17 euro!! If you have the change I suggest to see a football match here (el clasico is the game against the big enemy Real Madrid), it will be an unforgettable experience.
I was lucky enough to see one of the most important games ever here when back in 1999 I came to see the Champions League final between Manchester United vs Bayer Munich (2-1). The last 3 minutes of this amazing match are still on my mind, the two goals (Sheriggham-Solskjaer) that Manchester scored and won while they were behind for 89 minutes!! My photo isnt clear (I only had a cheap point and shoot analog camera that year) but some german players stay there on the ground crying for some time after the end of the match! What a match...

Covered local markets (Mercat de Sant Antoni, Mercat Boqueria,...) are a must. There you can see all kinds of fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, spices, etc. You can have a glass of local wine, beer, espresso, a quick meal and a chat with local people.
