See Everything Barcelona Has to Offer
by taryn_treloar
Walking down Las Ramblas was entertaining at any point. It was constantly jammed packed of people and 'buskers'.....Lots of costumes and artists and market and people. Great times, endless fun. I enjoyed every aspect of Barcelona, from its food, shopping, weather, to its people and accommodation.
I shall return!

Barcelona and most of Catalonia speaks Castilian (Spanish) and Catalan. Catalan is also spoken in parts of France and other parts of Europe. English is widely understood especially because of the in flux of British tourists.

Park Guell - Crooked pillars
by Jerelis
Park Guell is Antoni Gaudi's most colourful creation. He was commissioned in the 1890s by Count Eusebi Guell to design a garden city on 20 hectares of land. In the event, little of the grand design for public buildings and 60 houses in landscaped gardens became reality. What we see today was completed between 1910 and 1914 and the park opened his doors in 1922.
Most atmospheric is probably the Room of a Hundred Columns, a cavernous market hall of 84 (so not a 100!) crooked pillars, brightened by glass and ceramic mosaics. To be exact it's decorated with polychrome mosaics of broken stone, ceramic pots and old tiles. The park is very popular and has an obscure cymbolic content. Shapes and colours were inspired by natural forms which Gaudi, a devout catholic, saw as instances of divine craftmanship.
Address: Carrer d'Olot, 08024 Barcelona.
Directions: Bus 24, 25, 31, or 74. Metro; line 3. Lesseps Station, then follow the street signs. Do keep in mind that it is quite a strenous walk to the main entrance!
