Traqnsfer from Pier to airport

by loum140

We are 2 couples arriving Sun 4/4 (Easter Sunday)

Limo is quoting Euros 95.

Can we fit in one cab, or just take two taxis.

Flight leaves at noon

by MarkSacco

Yes, I was recently stuffed with 3 others and out luggage into a cab with no problem. I can't remember the price though.

Can we fit in one cab ?

by freland

It depends how much luggage you have
and what kind of vehicle -
best if you are lucky to spot a minivan,
if not , even 2 taxis will cost less then the one quoted.

Contact the following company to get a quote for a minivan. Please indicate the number of passengers and bags to get the correct vehicle.

Hope it helps.

best regards
Mahesh

I was to suggest the same as Mahesh (taxivan). I routinely use it's sister company "taxi Mercedes" and they are very reliable. But I usually travel alone so I don't have first hand experience about the minivans.

In any case, as already someone said, even 2 taxis (if case you carry tons of luggage) will work cheaper than 95€

ops, not sure is the same company, their URL is different:

(well, better check both!)

Travel Tips for Barcelona

by Katirose

People watch! Barcelona has wonderful pedestrian walkways and cafes that allow for perfect spots to sit and enjoy a drink and watch the world go by. Barcelona is a wonderfull place to visit. While visiting it feels as if the city is alive with life, culture and excitement. The city is full of random pieces of art that provide an eclectic mix of new and old.

L'auberge espagnole

by Bixente

by mgard27

I was trying to catch a picture of a particularly impressive statue guy (person who paints themself and stands like a statue on a pedestal), but I snapped the picture a second too late! (Argh! Pedestrians!) If you look closely, you can see the gold-painted arm and hat of the statue man, just to the left of the young people walking. Cool! And now...on with the cultural info...

Both in Barcelona and Madrid, I was struck by the strong and obvious bond of family. Of course, while waiting at the train station I saw a lot of reunions. But the affection and love the Spanish people show their family in everyday life is heartwarming. Men walk down the street with their arm around their sons--even if both men are adults. A lot of men also hold their wives' purses for them. This is something you don't see too often in the US because guys are worried it will make them look too feminine. And while we're on the subject of purses, it seems that men carry their own version of a purse over there (this is true in France, also). It looks a little like a camera case, and it seemed almost every man had one. This is not to say that Spanish men were in any way feminine, though. I don't know what they keep in there, but it must be important!
Cultural Tips: If someone is trying to get your attention in Spain, they make this weird hissing noise with a 't' sound at the front. It seemed a little strange at first because it sounds like a snake, but it's just the way they do things.
Cultural Tips: Keep in mind that people in Barcelona are Catalonian and Spanish is not their language. I think they all understand Spanish, but I would ask them if they speak it first (if you speak it).

Day trip to Montserrat

by fairy_dust

If you have time for a day trip, I highly recommend Montserrat. It's a beautiful mountain in the countryside with a monestary and religious sights. But even if you're not Catholic, it's still worth seeing - the girl in the group who suggested we go to Montserrat is an atheist! We all enjoyed it, because of the beauty of the place in general, and even though we planned on only staying a few hours or so, we ended up spending the whole day there!

It's very easy to get to Montserrat. All you have to do is take the subway from Barcelona. Just buy your subway ticket at the right station (I can't remember exactly the name though...) and it doesn't take very long to get there by subway. The subway if probably the easiest way to get there.
