Hotel Gran Ducat - Central & economic
We had a nice stay at this hotel, ideal because it was situated in the very centre near place de Catalunya. Not noisy also, so don't worry for a good sleep.
Unique Quality: The price was economic, breakfast was great (fruitjuice - chocolatecake - eggs - and offcourse Seranoham - cheese - toasted bread....) so everything you need for a good breakfast.
Only negative point was the rooms a bit small, but not disturbing, cause you don't spend the whole weekend at your room do you?
There was also a PC on which you could surf the internet for free, and there was a non protected wifi network, so you can surf in your room also.
The rooms were clean, and cleaned on time also. No problems, we had a great stay.
After the corner you can book the tourist bus or take all the other busses that stop at place Catalunya + the Ramblas is on the other side of this place Catalunya.

Not very grand
The Gran Ducat is completely average accommodation, and some of the sites are most misleading. Our room was tiny!! Just bigger than the double bed. They advertised soundproofed rooms!! You could here everything that was going on in the small hotel!!
Bathroom was also a nightmare, with a tiny shower with mouldy shower curtain. Of course this leaked, even into the bedroom.
Staff were quite friendly and helpful though. Also, after 22h00, u can't get anything to drink, as the 'bar' closes.
Breakfast was awful, with cold eggs and a dodgy dining room.
Unique Quality: Good thing is that it's quite central, with easy walking distance to Las Ramblas, a main shopping street, bus tours, etc

Looking for hotel / buscando hotel
English: Hello everybody...I will stopping over Barcelona for one night only and I would like to stay as near as possible the train station to get from the airport and go back the terminal the following day...I believe there are four diferent stations connecting to the airport. Maybe you have some idea for a comfortable and less expensive hotel in the area...let's say 3 stars...I dont need a barbershop or a Louis Vuitton store...hahaha...THANKS.
Español: Hola a todos....estaré una noche en barcelona y me gustaría hospedarme en un hotel lo más cerca posible de algunas de las terminales de trenes que conectan al aeropuerto. Tal vez un hotel cómodo a precio razonable de 3 estrellas...que no necesito barbero, ni tienda de Louis Vuitton...jajaja..GRACIAS.
