We had actually booked another hotel but as they were overbooked they upgraded us to this hotel which also belongs to the Gargallo group of hotels. We did not complain!!! It is a beautiful hotel and is ideally situated for all parts of the city. The bathroom was large and very clean and the rooms too were of a very good size. Due to the location it can be a little noisy at night.if you are on the street side of the hotel.

I booked into the Barcino as part of an Expedia fly/hotel package for our trip to Barcelona. We found the hotel to be very nice in all areas. Clean rooms, fantastic location, adequate staff and just right for our needs. We didn't utilize the bar or the breakfast option because Barcelona offers far too many option for anyone to stay in the hotel. Get out! The breakfast appeared to run about 12 euro which seems pricey by Barcelona breakfast standards. We actually enjoyed having a room overlooking Carrer Jeume because the sounds of the city are part of what one wants in Europe.
As an aside, the hotel has only three rooms with double beds with the rest being singles that are/can be pushed together. If you book in advance and want a double bed, make sure to ask.
Very clean and excellent location. It's just off Placa Jeume near the Metro station. Easy walking distance to Place Catalunya, great independent shopping areas/alleys, the Barri Gothic and innumberable other sights.
As far as price, I'll guess it was about 100 euro a night during the low season based purely on the cost of the overall package.
Gran Hotel Barcino: Do not stay in Gran Hotel Barcino!

Do not stay in this hotel!
There is no way this hotel deserves four stars. I had no water in the shower - two days in a row! The staff would not help me (reception staff hardly speaks English) or allow me to change rooms. I had to shower in a colleague's room the first day and did not shower the second day. Some rooms (mine!) are ridiculously small - I didn't even have any room to put my suitcase down. In addition I couldn't control the heat in my room: I slept with an open window and ranging heater. I was in Barcelone for a conference and would expect a four star hotel to have internet wifi and a desk in each room, but no. Furthermore, it was noisy. When I complained at check-out, I was completely ignored.
So: - no water to shower - tiny rooms - no climat control - noise - unfriendly & incapable staff.
