Overnight Train from Barcelona to Paris

by scottnq

Is there a train that travels overnight from Barcelona to Paris?

Re: Overnight Train from Barcelona to Paris

by Maryimelda

Yes there is a train from Barcelona Estacion de Franca which departs at 21:05 and arrives at Paris Austerlitz 09:00. It is a sleeper train and reservations are necessary.

Thank you..do you know the website I would go to make the reservation?

Try here:

http://www.renfe.es/horarios/english/index.html

This is the spainish rail system site which will be cheaper than buying your ticket through an agency such as Raileurope.

That is right, Maryimelba, we had taken that red eye train from Barcelona to Paris. We arrived right after breakfast and it was quite a restful trip. We normally suggest friends and relatives to take that trip as it will save them one night hotel yet your moving on to your next city....Happy Traveling!

the train's website might be easier then renfe's (?)

Travel Tips for Barcelona

Placa de Catalunya

by goingplaces

At the end of La Ramble you come to the Placa de Catalunya. Unfortunately we didn't look around, just turned around and walked back down La Rambla. Take the time to look around...I only took the time to take a picture.
: ( Oh, this also happens to be the location of my favorite place in Barcelona, the Hard Rock Cafe...; ).

Table vs Bar in billing

by racheljapi

In Spain you get charged more when you sit at a table as apposed to standing (or sitting if there is a stool) at the bar. It's not too significant but if you are counting pennies I'd keep it in mind. FYI: This is also true in many other European countries.

An umberella is useful!

by TracyG

It is always easier to carry things in a backpack, particularly if you are going to be continuing your travels on. It is always good to take at least one warm item of clothing (even for the summer) along the coast it can get a bit chilly. Also a comfortable pair of shoes, Barcelona is a brilliant city to do lots of walking around. Just your basic medical kit, that you would take, for elsewhere in Europe. Also don't forget your sunscreen in summer.......... You should have no problem with finding film/batteries etc. It can be quite expensive though, so shop around a bit. There are some nice beaches not that far from Barcelona, so remember your swimmers.... It is always handy to take an umbrella, for those odd showers (though this could be just because I am from ENGLAND...!)

Balmes Street

by dlandt

We found Balmes street while following the Japanese guide book up into the mountains to get to Spanish Village, which is down by the sea. Along the way, we stumbled across Balmes St., which looks like at one time it was an aristocratic neighborhood filled with fine mansions and impressive looking homes. Now it seems that most have been converted to businesses, clinics or non-profit organizations, but the buildings have lost none of their majesty.

SFERA

by Danalia about Sfera

Everytime I visit Sfera, I but a winter coat or tow. But since there is no real winter in israel , I hardly use them and they still look as new. Since they classic and well done, they can last for years.

Monday to Saturday from 10-22 hr.
