    One of five stars hotels in Barcelona. This contemporary hotel is located near the subway station (Maria Cristina). It is not spacious, but fine and relaxing. The room I was staying was ordinary Hilton standard. As there was a private lounge on my floor. We often used it, taking buffet breakfast, drinking some wine or coffee. I liked that cozy space with vivid color interior as the picture shows.

    • The hilton has all the comforts of a European hotel with the Executive Lounge being a plus. They have authentic snacks from Barcelona at all times of the day. It is out of the main tourist area of town. So you can get away and there are some good restaurants and shopping in the area.

    • A well located, modern, luxurous lodging, with great amenities. Excellent restaurants, superior appointments, large, clean, upscale rooms. Excellent shopping within a few minutes walk in either direction. A super market just 2 blocks away. The most up to date boutiques along the Avenue Diagnal. For modest prices (1 or 2 euros) you can ride the tolley as long as you like. It circles at the end of the avenue and repeats the trip, which is good, because you will pass in front of several Gaudi's, and spectacular parks. A most friendly city. The hotel has numerous sidewalk cafes next to it, which really come to life about 9:00 p.m., with fabulous local cuisine, including a wide variety of seafood, and paella's. The hotel's food is well prepared, and of good quality. The rooms were very comfortable, and well furnished.

    The common areas are large, airy, bright, and comfortable.

    • Stopped here for 2 nights in January 2004. This is a stylish hotel with modern decorations throughout both the public areas and the rooms. We had a standard double room which was very clean and modern. We did go and have a look at the gym (but didn't use it during our 2 night stay) and it wasn't particularly impressive - it consisted of a few pieces of equipment in a room rather like a function room. However I think it is there purely on the off-chance that some people may like to exercise whilst away and not as a particular feature of the hotel. Ate in the restaurant one night and that was okay. Breakfast was good both days with a large selection of dishes.

    The only downside to the hotel is that it is in the business district of Barcelona and is too far to walk to the main attractions. However, it's only a short walk to a blue or red bus route so it's easy to hop on and off the tourist buses (as long as you don't mind going the long way round).

    The reception bar was particularly nice and we enjoyed many a cocktail whilst listening to the piano and people-watching.

    Only five minutes away by foot from the Maria Christina metro station, you will be walking down the Ramblas twenty minutes after you have left the hotel.

    The neighbourhood is quite nice also, with in the immediate surroundings many shopping malls and a Starbucks coffee.

    Very nice modern hotel on Av. Diagonal. The staff was extremely nice. I would go back any day!
