Safe, Clean and Comfortable
This was a great hostel just minutes from Placa Catalunya- the accomodations were very clean and safe. In fact this hostel was rated in the top 10 safest hostels in the area. We paid extra to have the superior room with air conditioning and private bath- were were pleasantly surprised to receive an extra large room with a nice-sized bathroom. The staff were very nice and helpful as well.
Unique Quality: Free Wifi, nice sitting area with tons of books and tourist information, computers for internet use.

Barca!
This budget hotel was great for the price. The washrooms are not in the room, but shared between about 3 rooms, however don't let this discourage you...they are the cleanest washrooms ever! I never had a problem waiting to use the washroom either. The only drawback to this hotel is the steep flight of stairs you have to climb to get to your rooms-ask for a room on the first or second floor when booking. The rooms were great...two single beds which were very clean and included a sink, mirror, balcony, closet for clothes and table. The staff were also very helpful, and the location was in the middle of city within a few minutes of the Ramblas. I would stay at this hotel if I ever went back to Barcelona-which I hope to.

Two Star Hostal
Hostel Centric is a two star hostel with good modern facilities. Double Rooms from 72 to 82 Euros are available depending upon the high and low season.

I'm going to Barcelona in August and I was just wondering whether any of you have stayed at the Hostal Centric located at c/. Casanova 13? Is this a nice place? Is the hostal in a safe area? Will we be close to all the sites?

Hi, i live in Barcelona. I don't know this hostal. However, I lived next to this direction. Sure is in a safe area, and is very close to the centre, and the main comunications.
