I have learned that "annexes" to hotels in Europe ususlly means an adjacent or nearby building they have purchased but not yet renovated. We were put in the annex to this hotel. First we had to climb about 90 steps with all our luggage. The rooom was actually a 2 room former apartment and was clean enough but totally lacking in charm.
The location was good, just off the Ramblas and the bathroom & wc were clean, but they were both the tiniest I have encountered.
