yes, sorry for the misspelling i mean marseille

by train requires change and is not preferable... Why not you do one-way by air and one-way (return) by bus? Spainair goes cheap...

just wondering.... do you have any special reason for visiting Marseille? It can't be done as daytrip from Barcelona (unless you fly, assuming the timetable allows it.... and this will be not cheap, only Iberia does this route and it's mainly used by business people)

There are many interesting places much easier (and cheaper) to reach from Barcelona as daytrips. Or depending how many days you have to play with you may plan a 2-3 days side-trip around the South-East of France

I agree; there are a lot better places to visit than Marseille. I think you need to look at a map. There are a lot near Barcelona, in Spain, but also many others in Southern France. It depends what you are interested in. Do you have some special interest in Marseille?

Travel Tips for Barcelona

When flying in...

When flying in you should try to sit at the window of your plane and have a marvelous look over the beach/harbour area, when descending to the Barcelona airport.

Ramblas! An amazing street!
At the end of RAMBLA you can find MAREMAGNUM. A mall with many discos.
Between Maremagnum and ramblas there's the Colom's Monument.
In this photo I'm under the Colom's Monument.

Spanish Gothic

From outside of the Cathedral you would not expect the great interior - but Spain was an important seamen's country and a lot of gold - formerly robbed/taken away from the overseas colonies - was given as a present to the churches

Cimetery

by frambou

I always found it interesting visiting cimeteries where ever i go... the cimetery of Barcelona is very impressive. Located in front of the comercial port, their are buses leading there along the harbor. It's impossible to get there from Mont Juic... i tryed and got lost throught the gardens! During the death day, their are direct buses from the center. Beware, their are opening hours (dont do like me and get locked inside!!) I suggest a walk to the Cactus garden and to the cimetery during the same field trip (carefull, they are both hard to find)

Don't forget to visit this place near Estadio NouCamp.
This is a modern looking Barcelona, you can do some shopping and watching people. Take a walk to the right is Barcelona's football ground of Nou Camp.
