Robbed in the Lobby

Terrible (1.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on June 30, 2011

Hotel not bad and location very good. Robbed while checking in at front desk. Band of 3 professional thieves came into lobby. 2 distracted us, while a 3rd stole my backpack from in front of my feet. Lost camera, computer, ipod, sunglasses and Eurail passes. Thousands of dollars lost. Hotel only said this happens all the time in Barcelona. (Police confirmed that.) They had a security camera over check in desk but they don't record anything. Manager said they are not responsible for any of the losses. Check in gal said, "you have insurance don't you?" (Yeah, made me wonder who was in on it??) Only help they gave was a map to the police station and printing some documents for me. Get over all that and it was OK.

Functional base for exploring Barcelona

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on August 7, 2006

City Park Pelayo is a clean and functional base for exploring Barcelona. The area is nice - not at all seedy - very close to Placa de Catalunya. The room itself is very small, but the bathroom is quite spacious. The decor is modern.

Directions: Placa de Catalunya
