This is the ideal hotel for budget travelers who want to be in THE center of Barcelona. The location is right off Placa de Catalunya and close the harbour, metro, malls, supermarket, restaurants, etc... Location just cannot get better than this!
It is fairly clean, very friendly staff, decent breakfast, large rooms, has comfy beds, with great view rooms (if you get lucky) and we paid 60 Euros a night for two people. It was simply perfect for the price.
I emailed them a few days before getting there asking to book me a room with view and they managed to do that. It was looking over the square and was very nice with two small balconies, it was a little noisy if you opened the windows, but if you close them they are pretty air-tight and sound proof. We had no problem sleeping at night. It had decent air-conditioning, large bathroom with soap and shampoo, two pairs of towels, TV with international news channels, closet and safe box (extra 2 Euros).
The staff was very friendly (and funny), and helped us with finding places to go/eat/visit. Continental breakfast was 6 Euros extra and was average so if you feel like getting out for breakfast you won't miss much. They also had internet connection if you needed it, but it was fairly expensive (4 Euros/hour). We used an internet cafe 5 minutes away.
Overall, worth every penny. For 30 Euros/person you cannot get better deal than this in this location. Nothing fancy, but you won't spend much time at the hotel in Barcelona anyway!
