Hi John,I do not know if you have already found an apartment but if not, I can recommend Akaza. I have rented an apartment of them and it was really good. The website is www.akaza.net and they have a lot of choice. I have also heard that the rental agency Barcelona Home is good. Good luck!!

Caixaforum

by Peret

caixaforum is a modern forum of art. It is placed in a beautiful and interesting building that was an old modernista factory. Only for the building is worth to visit. Beside, the exhibitions inside are always interesting. There's peintings, music, tales...The most of times for free. The building is easily available, near to Pla?a d'Espanya.

no early risers on sunday

by tompt

When you visit Barcelona and are a early riser you will find yourself alone on the streets. The musea open only at 10:00, so no use to go anywhere. Unless you like to be alone on a busy street like the Passeig the Gracia. At this street you will find the houses by Gaudi: casa batllo and casa mila (la pedrera).

Olympic Stadium

by spgood301

I first really learned about Barcelona during the '92 Olympics, so it was natural to visit the stadium, and walk around Montjuic too. You're able to walk right into the stadium. The soccer club was just starting practice when I was there. Good thing too-an empty stadium can be a little boring!

The one view I really wanted to find was from the diving arena-the city view was so great on TV during the games. I found it by accident, but the arena wasn't open. Even behind the gates, it was a good view.

Street puppets

by SirRichard

I found these street puppets in the square in front of the Cathedral.
There are there many street artists everyday, so is a good place to hang around, sit down and watch the people go by (beware of pickpockets BTW).
These puppets were sooo big... and they were all managed by a single guy, who also played music... it was gorgeous!
