 | Barcelona Hotel Suizo Reviews | 1 - 5 of 5 | |
Near the Metro (see sign at left) by SirRichard This hotel is in an ideal location if you want to explore the old town (Gothic Quartier, El Born...), as it is near the Jaume I Metro station. Inside is not particularly charming. A bit noisy, but the windows are noise-protected.

We stayed there for only 3 nights, but my impression was very good about the all service, the room wasnt to big, but not also to tiny, quite enough for a short stay, the breakfast was really good, no objections to the cleanness of the entire hotel, the staff was really nice with us, and we had no problem to communicate width them. However the best this hotel has to offer its his location, right in the heart of "Bairro Gothic" and few minutes walking distance to "Las Ramblas" you have all the major attractions pretty close to you, and besides, everything a little more far, you have the subway station right in front.

We arrived in March 2003, and the next day they started major refurbishments! We had to use the tiny laundry lift (one at a time) as the stairs were not always available! We were given a token to get breakfast at another hotel across the road, as the bar/restaurant had been totally ripped out! And, perhaps disturbed by all the building work, we were visited by cockroaches in our room. On the other hand, when my friend discovered she had picked up the wrong suitcase from the airport, the man on reception could not help enough, calling the airport and airline for us. His English was better than the rest of the staff though - as we discovered when we tried to ask someone to get rid of the bugs, and clean our room! Altogether, not a happy stay, though it is well situated near the heart, right by a metro stop, and lots of places to eat
