This is a beautiful property with a modern, luxurious feel. For those of you who want a more American style hotel when you travel to Europe, this fits the bill. You will pay for this comfort, however, since the rates here are pretty high. Overall, this is a fantastic hotel.
The location is wonderful and you are steps away from some of Barcelona's best restaurants and tapas bars, the metro and train station, and some of the city's most picturesque streets. The hotel is in a very safe area and we walked around the area all hours of the day and night with no problems. The hotel's security is top-notch with a full-time guard in the lobby and security cameras around the property. The staff was fantastic and multi-lingual. When we arrived early and our room wasn't ready, they stored our luggage safely and securely. I can't say enough about the wonderful and professional staff; everyone we encountered was extremely helpful and friendly.
The air conditioning was FABULOUS and our room was kept icy cold on the hottest days. In fact, we had to turn off the a/c a few times since the room got so chilly. As you can read in my other reviews over the years, having a good a/c unit is very important to me and this hotel kept me nice and cool (this would be a great hotel for the sweltering summertime). Other great perks included an in-room towel warmer, in-room safe, in-room refrigerator, on-site restaurant, and free wireless internet!
The rooms have a sleek, modern design. They are extremely well appointed and well laid out. The rooms are small compared to U.S. hotels, but they are comfortable. The room felt brand new and was extremely clean. The room has nice faux-wood floors and a very large bathroom (complete with toilet and bidet). The shower made for an interesting experience as it didn't have a door or curtain, just a very small glass partition that resulted in water getting all over the place. The hotel provided a very nice in-room toiletry kit with a razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, bath gel, shampoo / conditioner and soap. The soap bar was super tiny so you might want to bring your own.
I really cannot think of any complaints or warnings about this hotel. It was simply fantastic.

So it costs a fair bit...but the location is perfect, right in between Eixample and Las Ramblas, with a subway stop just around the corner. Highlight of trip: getting spicy sausages, pimenton de padron, and a beer from the restaurant across the street, and heading to the rooftop pool for an afternoon of lounging and saturated fat. The room was modern and comfortable.

After a few nights staying in a cheap apartment in Barcelona, we decided at the last minute to extend our trip and had to find somewhere else to stay. A bit of research bought us to Hotel Jazz, a newish hotel only a short walk from Placa Catalunya.
Although the Hotel Jazz is only classed as a 3 star hotel, we thought it had been under-rated. This is a modern hotel, beautifully appointed and centrally located hotel - and for 110 euro a night we though very good value.
Unique Quality: The hotel has a roof top pool (which we didn't use as we stayed in winter), a bar, and free internet (in the bar area). All staff we had contact with were friendly and helpful.
Our room was on the 7th floor, offering good views over the busy streets below. There was two very comfy beds (that could be pushed together if required), a flat screen TV, mini-bar and a spacious bathroom.
I would recommend Hotel Jazz for someone wanting a stylish place to stay, close to Placa Catalunya.

We checked into the Hotel Jazz on a Friday afternoon. It is a really nice clean hotel located very close to the Placa Catalunya and Las Ramblas. Although we arrived before check in time, they were very accomodating about stowing our luggage until it we could check in. Our room was decorated in a modern style and was extremely clean and comfortable.
Unique Quality: The staff were very helpful in recommending places to have a nice dinner, and where to eat where more of the locals did, rather than the tourist spots. We appreciated this.

Great hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Very well designed and laid out hotel, uniquely for Barcelona this hotel has a pool on the top of the hotel which was always perfectly clean, and afforded great views over the city. For the business traveller, this hotel also provides free wireless access. Linens were cleaned every day by very freindly staff.
The location of the hotel is also very good, just off La Ramblas and feet away from the Placa de Catalunya makes for easy access to all of the attractions and the shopping. Very highly recommended, would definitely look to stay here again next time in Barcelona.
Unique Quality: In a nutshell, great staff, great decor and design, great location, unique pool area.

Hotel Jazz is a great base for a short visit to Barcelona.
Enter through the two glass doors in to the reception area over looked by the balcony of the bar above.
The hotel has a modern, clean design but not clinical or uncomfortable. Rooms are double glazed with black out curtains and air-con to ensure a good nights sleep.
The bathroom came with selection of toiletries and the mini bar is well stocked (if a little expensive)
The LCD tv is rather nice too!
Unique Quality: The roof top swimming pool offers some great views accross the city
The bufet breakfast deserves a mention to - you will not go hungry!

We stayed there for the weekend on April 2004.
Brand new, modern decor. Rooms are large and very comfortable, and they have lots of nice touches such as towel warmers, and care packages with razors, toothbrushes, soap, etc.
Lovely breakfast buffet, with lots of choice.
Two internet connected PCs for guests use.
Friendly attentive staff.
LCD TVs (but nothing to see).
Beds are huge and comfortable.
Located smack in the center of town about 2 minutes walk from Plaza Catalunya.
Although it's a 3 star hotel, it is as good as many 4 star hotels I've been in.

Hotel Jazz had it all- great location, decor, price, comforts. It's in a great central neighborhood in walking distance to all kinds of restaurants, museums, shops and the subway station is less than a block away. Beautiful and comfortable inside, expecially the bathroom. Sleek and sophiticated. This place gave us the perfect rest from busy Barcelona. Definitely worth the affordable price.
Hotel Jazz is brand new and in the heart of Barcelona. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The morning buffet is great as well as the Jazz Bar in the evenings. The rooms are modern and decorated in a simple, sophisticated way. The room includes a radio system and flat screen tv. The roof is the best part, there is an awesome pool to enjoy as well as the scenery. Ladies if you want to shop, you couldn´t ask for anything better with tons of stores just outside your doorstep. If you like the W Hotel, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Hotel Jazz is a fantastic modern hotel in a great location. Rooms are a good size, very clean, and with A/C. The pool on the roof is an added bonus. Staff were more than helpful, and very friendly, I couldn't fault the service we received. We stayed for 4 nights, and the hotel Jazz contributed to one of the best weekends away me and my partner have had.
I would highly recommend this hotel.
My partner and I had a lovely weekend staying at Hotel Jazz, and we both couldn't get over the size of the bed, and how tastefully decordated the rooms were, but the service was very poor for a new Hotel. I waited in the bar a good 10mins before I had to go back to Reception to ask for service, and nobody was about even at the front desk, but I definitely would go back!
