Last time, with my students, i stayed at the hotel peninsular, just off the ramblas.
check out the website and see if it might suit you.
In the rates they only mention single and double rooms, but there are also triples and quadruples...

Hi, I have just booked a room for next week through booking.com can't tell you how good or bad it is because I haven't been yet. It's called the InOut has good write ups and only cost 9 euros including breakfast, hope this helps.

The hostal Grau is very well located, 1 minute walking from the Ramblas and 2 minutes from Plaza Catalunya. You can rent a room or a little apartment and is not expensive.

But, as everything can't be perfect, you have to bear in mind too that it's a quite old place.
Saludos.

See Antonio Gauidi's many buildings. I got the tour in Spanish from an older gentleman who was so kind to us. He walked us all over the city to find other buildings by Gaudi. This building is based on the body of a dragon. The balconies are skulls, the posts are kneebones, and the roof is the backbone of the dragon. The beautiful colors represent scales. Gaudi had an incredible imagination.

Tibidabo.
At 542m (1778ft), Tibidabo is the highest hill in the
wooded range that forms the backdrop to Barcelona. If
the air's clear, it's a great place for views over
the city. The locals come up here for some thrills at
the amusement park Parc d'Atraccions, which has rides
and a house of horrors. As hair-raising as anything
at the Parc, however, is the glass lift that goes
115m (126yd) up to a visitors' observation area at
Torre de Collserola telecommunications tower. The
more sedate can find solace in Temple del Sagrat Cor,
Barcelona's answer to Paris' Sacré Coeur; it's even
more vilified by aesthetes than its Paris equivalent.
Looming above Tibidabo's funicular station, it is
actually two churches, one on top of the other. The
top one is surmounted by a giant Christ and has a
lift to the roof.
Squak of supper
by bpwillet
There inside the courtyard of the cathedral of Barri Gotic, is a well manicured plaza with tall trees, shrubs, and geese. There were a few women who came around to feed them. It was very sweet but the tranquility of the courtyard has a different ring to it when competing with the squaking of happy, hungry geese. But it was sweet of her to do so.
Palau Reial de Pedralbes

This palace contains a ceramics musuem, but the gardens are a very beautiful place and quite formal. The gardens are used by many people for first communion photos.
This is on the new tram system, closest to Palau Reial.
St. Joseph Market - Mercado San José
by spanishguy about La Boquería
It's the most popular market in town. The market of St. Joseph is best know as Boqueria and its a world into itself. It's very interesting for both its architecture and its atmosphere where you can find a great variety of products. It's in a 19th century structure of glass and iron.
