Hostal Lazza, Does What It Says On The Tin
I stayed here on my first trip to Barcelona. It is very primitive, but is well located, and has a modern feel to it. The decor is very subtle and classy, and it is a mid point between a hostel and a hotel I guess.
It is very close to the Sagrada Familia cathedral, although it was a bit of a maze to find the street it was located on. The staff were uber friendly and helpful, and there could be absolutely no complaints about the cleanliness or the service we received.
In short, it wouldn't have been great if we were spending a long period of time in the place, but as it happens we only needed it as the room it was, and it did it's job perfectly. If you want a no-frills place to stay, but slightly more up market than the standard hostel, then this is the one to go to!
Unique Quality: Tasteful decor.
