We stayed 3 nights and it was a nice clean boutique hotel, nice bar nice customers. Breakfast was very good and quiet. Very well centrally located but no noice.
We would stay there again.
right, you will always be close to public transportation.
pensiones are a great option, and maybe someone else can do the research to find the websites, as i always just find the pensiones as i'm walking about the streets. they have private rooms with bathrooms, and are affordable. hostels are also a good idea because you can get your own room to share with your fiance, and have a private bathroom. often times, the private rooms have shared bathrooms, so you will have to ask specifically.
i've used these websites and found them useful:
the first two are better imo.
you can see photos, locations, reviews and rates.
hope that helps!
We had the pleasure of staying 5 nights at Joyce apartments. The apartment was everything the website stated. No hidden punches here. It was very clean and comfortable.
Conveniently located across the street from a supermarket and the Tapasbar. It an easy walk to the metro, Gaudi sights and an internet cafe 2 blocks away.
This hotel is splendid, mainly because of its location in the middle of La Rambla where all the possibilities are just minutes away. 5 minutes to El Corte Inglés or Plaza Real. The reason why we had a very excellent stay at this hotel is the excellent and very attentative service. Staff is professional and helpful. Everything is brand new, rooms are comfortable, as well as bathroom. There is laundry service and well everything what you would expect.
The interior of the hotel is very decorative and elegant. This is a 5 star hotel after all. For a stay in Barcelona this hotel is very much recommendable!
Pool at the top with a view of La Rambla. This is a great place to relax after a day in the city.
The place is located not so far from Arch de Trumphe, but further from main active places as Rambla street. Actually I liked this place more than Hostel Rembrandt. Actually it got more facilities – there was a nice conditioner and TV. Place was quite convenient for having a walk to Barcelona beach area.
Room for two persons cost 54 euros. We stayed here for 3 nights. Only hard thing is that receptionists spoke only in Spanish.
I am visiting Barcelona regularly and I am always booking my apartment in www.flatbarcelona.net They are the owners, they have good rates. I have a contact person there: Joan Riera. Send him an email (email@example.com) and ask for an extra discount. Regards, Jan.
On a pleasant street in the Old Town neighborhood, close to Paralel and Ramblas, about a ten minute walk from Placa Catalunya and very convenient to all sights via the city bus network (there are six or more bus routes that stop in the area). This classic old building has very modern apartments with plasma tvs, a brand new kitchen fully equipped, and nice furniture. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance. The lady that did the check in was very helpful, she is a native English speaker and she know everything about the transport, the supermarkets, restaurants and atractions. The beds were typical Spanish hard beds, the rooms were nice because the apartment is refurbished with the old wood balks on the roof. The shower was great! Everything is brand new and smells good. This is a good choice for couples and families, excellent location, comfortable... good value for your money!
I used the agency Loving Barcelona : http://www.lovingbarcelona.com/
and chose apartment (apartment Parellel #1) situated right by metro Pable Sec on Avinguda Del Parallel.
The apartment was large, modern, freshly decorated and furnished. It had 2 double bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Very clean - spotless.
When we arrived in Barcelona I made a phone call and the person was there with the key for us in no time at all.
We paid a deposit of €82 (online & with a credit card) and then had to pay €228 in cash on arrival.
Nice clean place to stay in the Raval area of Barcelona - which really is the happening part of town.
The owner is really nice and helpful, the rooms are cosy with plastered high ceilings. There is a fridge and lots of leaflets of things to do in Barcelona. The internet cafe is a less then a minute walk, and is open all hours.
Ahh - the balcony is sunny in the mornings. Really nice!
We booked trough Hostels.com and we were very lucky to get such a cheap deal! All we were looking for was a private room with bed and our private bathroom. this Hostel is situated 2 mins away on foot from Drassanes metro line, a side street of La Ramblas on Cll St Monica. Breakfast wa included in the price.
On our arrival there we were greeted by a nice guy who works the bar. When we settled the bill we went up four storeys high to the hostel(located within a rather dodgy apartment building). Hostel was nice and small. quite clean. room was a decent size. the first night we had no warm water or flushing toilet and the manager said he will deduct money from our bill untill this is repaired. the next morning the workman repaired both heater and flushin and replaced the shower mixer to a new one and after that things were just great. the bar of the hostal is very cheap for residents. the crowd relaxed. the area is 3 mins off ramblas. and 2 mins to drassanes metro. the people friendly. i would def go there again. just one tip: at night the area is full of trannies, drug dealers and prostitutes. keep yourself to yourself and you'l be fine. if u look them in d eye, they will start to follow you around.
There is a really nice bar near hostel bar ramblas. i forget its name. its a small yet exquisitely decorated place, on the next block of building, on the same side of the hostel (oposite a small food shop). itr hosts drag queen shows, has a nice warm atmosphere, nice looking young people in their mid to late twenties and the people who run the bar are very very friendly. check it out :)
very very central.
when i was the last time in Barcelona in August 2009 i rented a very nice room in the shared apartment just in the city centre (close to LAS RAMBLAS and PLACA CATALUNYA). It was just 25€/night and there were only the landlady (her name is RENA, she speaks english and french) and me.I had my keys, so i was able to come back home even early in the morning and also i was able to take a bath any time i want and i cooked at home, so i saved a lot. If smb is interested, here is her email: firstname.lastname@example.org
This New Year holiday 2010 my family and i stayed in a beautiful two bedrooms apt in Barcelona centre, near the beach and Las Ramblas (Jaume 1 and Liceu metro st-ns) and paid about €60 a night in such high season. we found it through the agency http://www.barcelonarealestate.es/
big nice apartment
Whenever I travel on business I normally have my budget and try to get the best deal in the hotels I usually stay in, which is but normal and all of us do. However on a recent trip to Barcelona, all the hotels I normally go to were full a there was an important event in the city. I hence searched for other options and got a good deal at one of Barcelona´s top hotels.
the Juan Carlos I.
It is difficult to state that the deal was good when the rack rate is between 400 - 500 Euros per night for a room. My deal was at a better cost, I did have to break the comfort zone of my budget, however It was surely worth it and if you get a chance to do so this is a hotel that must be on your list, obviously if you have a little bit of extra cash to spare and enjoy the deal.
The rooms are very spacious and comfortable in all the aspects. The breakfast very good, the lobby is a very spacious area with a piano bar and other facilities. It may be a little distant from the city, however there is a metro station within 10 minutes of walk from the hotel that gets you to the city center in about 10 minutes.
If you have some extra time to spare, the hotel has got a very good garden area apart from a fantastic spa and massage service
I prefer to go to a studio apartments rather than stay in an hotel room.
This one in particular had all the amenities you can wish for. It was great. (Tamarit)
It was clean, central and everybody friendly.
I hope this helps
Located in a beautiful area of Barcelona.
Me and my father stayed here for 5 nights and it was no trouble at all. The staff was nice, service minded and talked good English (which for us is very good since we unfortunately don't speak Spanish yet). They have all the things you need for a comfortable stay in Barcelona and not to far out, only 10 minutes with the metro in to the city centre.
I would surely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Barcelona because it fulfils my first rule when it comes to a hotel. "When you want to sleep you want peace and quite and when you want to party you go there"
Just fine. Super bathrooms! Not free WiFi.
Close to the airport. Free shuttle to and from the airport during "daylight".
This is a hostel with many international tourists from all around the world. I stayed here for some days in December 2010, and I had a great time here. The stuff is very good and also they take care of you in a good way. They also fix party nights and also excursions to do different places. I never participated in any of them, because i prefer to be on my own and I had already friends here.
The stuff was very friendly and helpful, and they have stuff working all night too.
