Perfect
by clmbsb
This proved to be the perfect hotel for our 3 night stay in Barcelona. It is within a 10-15 minute walk of La Ramblas and 2 minutes from Franco station which runs directly to the airport. The room was clean and had a comfy bed. the bathroom was again clean but we had a slight problem with only luke warm water, not good when you need a good shower!!!
For the price it is well worth it.

The noisy but strategic hostel
by Perucha
Packed of people, 10 beds in a tiny room. Very noisy surroundings at night till morning. But it has a very strategic location, in the heart of Las Ramblas. 10 min walking to the beach, 10 min to Placa Cataluna.
Unique Quality: Price is very cheap, incl. breakfast and dinner too!
Directions: Just a short walk from Metro Liceu

Oasis---Barcelona Hotel
by MoreBarTime11
This was a decent stay at a very affordable price. Breakfast was included but rather bland---worse than the typical european breakfast. Such is life!
Unique Quality: Location was great, near the waterfront, gothic quarter, hop on hop off stop, etc.

Kabul Hostel
by Blatherwick
I had a blast here. My roommates were slightly insane with a bickering Chinese girl and German guy. There was a Dutch graffiti artist who spraypainted trains. As he said, "In Holland it takes the police 5 minutes to arrive. In Spain it is 5 hours." When Easter rolled around we got 20 people together to go out for dinner with loads of Sangria. Tons of fun.
The only downside was that it was in pickpocket central. However, the security in the hostel was good so that wasn't a problem for anybody inside the hostel.
Directions: Three quarters of the way down la rambla from placa de catalunya(where the bus from the airport drops you off), turn left into placa reial, take a right once in the square, and kabul is above the nightclub jamboree.

barcelona's party central
by keeperofthefunk
didn't stay there.
just know that kabul is the best place in barca to get ***faced before a night out. 2 euros for a litre of beer oor sangria, or why not mix the two to make spanish snakebite like i did... big up to faye C and patrick for making my trip the best ever... i'll be back there in the summer, so if anyone heading out to barca wants a good time and a guide to the city, ask around for nick.. i'll be the pissed one in the corner at kabul, hidden behind a tower of beer cans..
Unique Quality: good views, over zealous bouncers downstairs at jamboree who go mental if something is thrown at them from the window, spanish snakebite, amazing party atmosphere..

Kabul Youth Hostel
by SirRichard
This is one of the best Youth Hostels in town, and its location is unbeatable. I visited it looking for accomodation, but was full, so I couldn't stay, but the place seemed OK and the ambiance good.
It is in the Placa Reial, where there are many terraces and restaurants, 50 metres from Las Ramblas.
Unique Quality: Prices 13-21 euros, depending on the season...

Fun Youth Hostal
by esti28
Fun hostal. Near Plaza Catalunya. Walking down Las Ramblas, it is in a plaza on the left. They have a terrace on the roof where you can get beers for 2 euros. Wednesday nights they go bar hopping. Great if you are alone and want to meet people. There are rooms with bunk beds. They supply blankets and sheets and there are big lockers with electronic keys. Feels safe and fun. You get free breakfast with your stay in the cafe downstairs. Lots of people around eating at the terraces and there is a fountain in the middle.
17 euros, 35 with deposit for key which you get back
get there before 11 am to be sure to get a room. it fills up fast!
Directions: Near Plaza Catalunya, walk south from the plaza and its on your left in a plaza, just ask and people know where it is. It is past the market on the right and past Kentucky Fried Chicken on the left.

Barcelona's Hottest Hostel
by ADV27
This place has everything you need all under one roof. Located right off of Las Rambles, this hostel has a plethera of beds, girls and a bar on the second floor where all the guests party at night. The best thing about this hostel is it's location. Set in a square with a fountain, lots of restaraunts and action, this hostel is right in the middle of the party. There is a party here every night and cheap pitchers of Sangria. Beware that your not allowed to bring your own beer into the hostel, but that didn't stop us. Also, the guy at the front desk was a complete dumb-ass, for those who were wondering.
Unique Quality: The place has everything you need and is set in a party atmosphere. Girls and guys are getting together and having fun. Each bed has a locker next to it for your pack. Also, for those who are looking for some smoke, hash can almost always be purchased around the fountain.
Directions: Plaça Reial 17, 08002 Barcelona, Spain

where the party can start...
by Pounder73
Someone I met brought me hear. And for what I was looking for at the time, it was perfect. (read: if you are looking for someplace quiet - not here) Again, this is a hostel, and it attracts a young party crowd. I felt bad because many of the people I met there didn’t get the chance to see BCN in the day too much. The hostel has $1 beers in the vending machines and has sangria and tap (ie Keg) specials during “happy hour” every night. This is when and where everyone congregated to decide what was on everyone’s agendas for the evening. It promoted a very social atmosphere for the travelers. There were always people from other hostels cruising through during the first part of the evening for this reason. Always an option if you can’t get a room here.
Unique Quality: *Clean
*large safes
*great place to pre-party - social
*central location
*4 to 30 beds in a room
Directions: walking up La Ramblas, (before you hit C Ferran), make a right into Placa Reial, and it is on your right.

Clean but extremely noisy
by A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed from 4-8 August in two double rooms 410 and 414.They are very clean, the beds are OK and the space is enough, but there is hardly any daylight and the rooms are extremely noisy. When your neighbour coughs you can hear it.Breakfast is fine.Location, close to subwaystation Barceloneta is good.
Good basic hotel
by TripAdvisor Member zigzague
This is a good basic hotel right in the heart of Barcelona, close to Port Vell (2 mins), La Ribera, (2 mins), La Ramblas (10 mins), the beach (10 mins).
We stayed in a triple room (501) and there was plenty of space, although we had no balcony and the view was of the hotel's aircon. The bed and room were clean and came with bath and a shower attachment in an adjoining area.
You don't get a big TV, just a portable, and there's no fridge/minibar in the room, but what could you expect from a 2* hotel. We're going back to Barcelona and will probably stay here again.
Good value for money.
Excellent Value for Money
by A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed with three friends from 16-19 September. The hotel was ideally situated close to Port Vell and Maremagnum. The rooms were bright and airy and were cleaned every day. The staff were helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was excellent value and ideal for the start to a day of sightseeing. As far I am concerned, the negative comments posted earlier (which may stop others from staying at Hotel Oasis) were unjustified. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will certainly make a return visit.
Unhelpful Staff
by A TripAdvisor Member
After 7 nights on a cruise, we were apprehensive about booking into 2* hotel. However the hotel was fantastic for location, cleanliness and price but we found the reception staff (just one guy in particular) very unhelpful and felt uncomfortable whenever we needed to ask him anything!
Great for visiting the Zoo, Barceloneta and the Metro.
Would definitely stay here again
by TripAdvisor Member JeanBScotland
Considering this is a 2 star hotel, it is really comfortable. We had a nice triple room with balcony and side view to Montjuic. There was hardly any traffic noise considering it was very close to a busy street. We booked a "superior room" We didn't see the rooms that had not been refurbished-perhaps the poorer reviews came from people staying in them? Hotel was very clean and bath and shower both worked well. Breakfast is not great-but it is just a 2 star hotel. And who needs a minibar in Barcelona!
Good Base To Go From
by TripAdvisor Member lfc
stayed here with friends from uni in sep, went to barca to see gaudis work. This hotel was booked cheap through easyjet and we wernt expecting much, on arrival we got our keys and causiously went to our rooms. But nothing to fear a good hotel, basic but as it was a base to start from it was good, clean and bed comfy. Am going back in jan with uni, allready booked through ryanair (cheaper than easyjet) and got others to stay.
Oasis was a gem for a 2 star!
by TripAdvisor Member garthy
We have just spent 2 nights at the Oasis in Barcelona. We had no complaints with anything, the staff , the rooms and bar/restaurant area were more than adequate for what we paid. Its location could not have been more central for the amenities, as they were right there on the doorstep. The metro station was a stones throw from the front door and this gave you superb access to the rest of Barcelona. A baggage room was also provided on our day of departure and this was also free of charge. I would not hesitate to stop here again. Well done Hotel Oasis keep up the good work.
