Naturalised Parrots eating dates
by easyoar
When you wander around Barca, it is possible to see parrots that have escaped from captivity and become naturalised in the wild.
I snapped this one in Parc Guell, feeding his face on some dates in a Palm Tree. Most people seemed oblivious to his presence, but I was quite impressed to see one so content in the wild!
Eating Pinxtos at Bilbao Berria in Barcelona
by tojoh
Sometimes it is really a pity that you cannot eat for two. This especially the case if you go to Bilbao Berria, a restaurant close to the cathedral serving pinxtos, tapas from the Basque region.
Pinxtos are small slices of white bread with different toppings, as thin slices of cured ham, red peppers stuffed with tuna salad, fish patés with olive and mayonnaise, slices salmon, and skewers with hot spanish chorizo. The tastes are varied and superb and sometimes very inventive. A few years ago I grabbed a slice with manchego cheese, orange marmalade and chili. Great!
This is a must, if you want to eat good and cheap, but you may have to fight to get a seat.
What to take in March
by col_hall6
We visited Barcelona at the beginning of March, and for myself and most of the people we met over there from the UK we found the temperatures during the day PERFECT. It was a very comfortable 16C - 18C. Although the locals and visitors from warmer climates were in coats we found a short sleeved shirt more than enough during the day.
For early in the morning and early evening I had a jumper. For the evening a small jacket worked fine. There was a heavy shower on one of the late afternoons, so it's worth carrying a small waterproof coat.
You have to walk Barcelona to appreciate it the most, so I would advise some very comfortable shoes for the day especially.
Girona

This is a small town. The tourist office is near the town centre. You can take a day trip and visit the Catedral, Banys Arabs, Museu d'Art and the Jewish living place. I took the coach at Barcelona-Nord. It runs around 1.5 hrs.
Mango
by emilybcn about Shoes / Clothes
There are several mangos in Barcelona and they stand out from the other young women's stores because the clothes are affordable and of pretty good quality. I've gotten a lot of compliments on things here in the U.S that I bought at Mango. They have a lot of cute shirts and purses.. shirts for going out, purses, jeans. very affordable from 12 -40 euro on a blouse, even less during the sales in January and August.
