here's the link to their agenda (a pdf file)
http://www.montserratvisita.com/archivos/4080-309-arxiuAdjunt/Ag_MTS_09_oct-des_ENG%20DEFINITIVA.pdf

I think the choir kids will be enjoying their Christmas holidays on both 25 and 26, but I'm not 100% sure.

According the website agenda (translated from the Catalan website (it's English version is not updated), there will be the usual masses and other regular religious offices:

25 DECEMBER • Nadal del Senyor
8.30h • Laudes / 9.30h • Mass / 11h • Convent Mass / 12h • Salve i Virolai / 13h • Mass / 17.30h • Mass at the Cambril / 18h • 'Segones Vespres de la Solemnitat de Nadal' (special Christmas liturgy)

26 DECEMBER • Sant Esteve
7.45h • Laudes / 9.30h • Mass / 11h • Convent Mass / 13h • Mass / 15.30h • Commented visit of the Museum

learn about the Catalan...

by Tolik

learn about the Catalan arts... What the Catalan call 'Modernisme' emerged as a trend in all the arts in Barcelona in the 1880s. It did not appear in isolation in Barcelona. To the British and French the style was called 'Art Nouveau'; to the Italians it was 'sile Liberty'; the Germans called it' Jugendstil'(Youth Style) and in Austria it was called 'Sezession' (Secession). But the name 'modernisme' is misleading. It suggests the adoption of new means and rejection of the old. But modernista architectors (Antoni Gaudi the most famous one) looked to the past for inspiration. Gothic, Islamic and Reneissance all had something to offer. Modernisme was able to create new and exciting cocktails.

You may enlarge this picture in order to read the explanations. Gaudi used known mathematical shapes like those I teach to my students... hyperboloids and paraboloids... Also you may see how a slight deformation of a simple square gives such a beautiful surface.

Teatre-Museu Dali

by in4ik

A great 1-day trip from Barcelona to Figueres where the world's best meseum on Dali work is located. The museum is interesting already from the outside and even more from the inside. Dali himself worked on the composition of the museum. I found the experience mind-opening and intriguing.
