hi all,
i would like to book a room in this site , pension picasso in ramblas,25 and i want to ask whats your opinion about this hostel and the place where it is , is it safe? is it good comunicated to all monuments or places that i have to visit?

Carrer Carme is just in the heart of El Raval (former red light district). I would not reccomend it for a first-time visitor. It's changing, but it still has quite seedy areas. Not so dangerous (you have more risk of pickpockets in Las Ramblas) but you may feel unconfortable returning to your hotel at night. I like some bars and restuarants in El Raval, and I never had a problem here, but I do live in Barcelona and know how to move around.
Better look for a place in Barri Gotic (at the other side of Las Ramblas, around the cathedral), L'Eixample (both sides of Passeig de Gracia) or El Born (Museu Picasso, Santa Maria del Mar).

Check for hostels or pensions in Barceloneta, Gracia, El Born. Ramblas is nice to see, but so touristy & cheesy. El Born I believe is the best area to shop & eat.
