Question about train change.

by Miguelzgz

I am planning to arrive to Barcelona via High-speed train, and I then catch a train to Figueres.

I have a "window" of 13 minutes betwen the fast train arrives and the first train to Figueres leaves. Never used that station(I asume it IS the same station). Is it easy to do the train change in that amount of time? Won´t be carrying heavy luggage.

Thank you for any help.

un poco justico ;o))

Sants is a huge station and it's easy to get lost. The AVE arrives to a different area than the regional trains (not how far away, I never use Sants for regional trains). My guess is it will be possible to do it in 13 min, but have to get your ticket to Figueres (the ticket machines are always busy) and you may not find the right track on time. Anyway, there are trains to Figueres every 20-30 min so it should be not a big deal.

I wanted to say "I don't know how far away..."

Thanks Belsaita. I won´t be in a hurry, so I will just buy the ticket to the next train after I arrive at the station...won´t buy it in advance. Don´t want to be nervous during my only weekend off this summer.

actually, you cannot buy the regional trains tickets in advance (well, maybe you can buy them in Zaragoza's station? but it would make little sense... as you say, why to be nervous?)
enjoy well your weekend!!

Travel Tips for Barcelona

L'Eixample, my choice of where to stay in BCN

by dlandt

In my opinion, the best place to stay is in L'Eixample, near the Sagrada Famiglia.

I liked this neighborhood because I found it clean and safe, very convenient and full of stores and restaurants that stayed open late. The prices for food and drink here were half of what they were in the Barri Gottica. In this area, you're not staying in a tourist trap. You're staying in Barcelona. You won't find a whole lot of tourists here. While the plus side of this is that you really do get a good feel of what it is like to live and work in Barcelona, the downside is that you will need to use whatever Spanish you know. In this neighborhood, you really don't need to worry about the pickpockets and guilleys. Grocery stores are common, and there is just a lot to see and do.

So far, Barcelona is the only place where graffiti is actually considered art and it is not considered to be a for of vandalism. There are many public walls that look like a canvases in a museum. Splendid!

weather in Barca

by tweetycaro

Barcelona's location on the shores of the Mediterranean means that it enjoys a warm, welcoming climate and pleasant temperatures all year round. Between the Barceloneta district and the River Besos, the city has over four kilometres of perfectly equipped beaches which are frequented by its residents during most of the years. Barcelona also has an olympic harbour which provides excellent conditions for water sports.

Rainfall is often heavy, with levels of around 1,000mm per year. This helps to maintain the many green areas around the city.

In any season of the year, Barcelona basks in the sun. You can eat in open-air restaurants or have a drink on the terraces, by the shores of the Mediterranean sea.

Its around 2:30 hours away from Barcelona.
There u can find the amazing Salvador Dalí Museum.
The trip is definetly worth it because as I said b4, the museum is amazing , one of the best that I've been to.
Take a train and go, u wont regret it!

Shopping for picky, economical ladies

by listenandlearn about Shoes / Clothes

I particularly like shopping at this store called: Sisley. I always seem to find discounted and very specially designed clothes which is about the latest fashion. They do have 8 stores all over Barcelona, but the one I normally like shopping is the one loated at Passeig de Grácia, 49. Summer clothes are usually in latest fashion as well as they come in super sales. well, I would rather buy two dressy pants but with quality and I would spend about 130 Euros each pants but this would be quality as I don´t like having too many clothes but looking, two quality pants is good for few months.
