Restaurants in Poble Nou - HELP

by Lizzie10

I am taking my partner to Barcelona in April for a surprise 60th birthday bash. Does anyone know of any good restaurants in the Poble Nou area which are open late - some people won't be able to get there until about 10.00 in the evening so it needs to be somewhere that could cater for us at that time.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Restaurants in Poble Nou - HELP

Going for dinner at 10pm is a normal time here, do not worry. Actually more difficult would be finding a place that opens early! most places open from dinner from 9 to 11:30-12. Most popular restaurants do usually have 2 dinner "turns": at 9 pm and at 11pm (in case you book your table, recommended as it looks you are a group).

Do you have a budget in mind? How many people?

Casa Aliaga offers decent Catalan food, it will be about 35-40€ pp. http://www.casaaliaga.es/ (its English versions seems not working)

Another option, very traditional, will be L'Aliança
http://www.alianzadelpoblenou.com/
This one is cheaper and informal, they have cocas, tapas, raciones (plates to share).

Have fun!

And yes, 10 PM is NOT late, it's prime dinnertime.

Travel Tips for Barcelona

Explore it on foot. Stroll around with open eyes and mind. Immerse yourself in this city and get mesmerized. Walking down Las Ramblas stopping at La Boqueria market for a pound of fresh strawberries to be nibbled along the way...

Again we discovered Barcelona...

by conny_bazen

Again we discovered Barcelona by foot. It are long distances but it's really worth it. You see so much more from this amazing city. Walking in the area of the harbour gives you the feeling that the world is open for you. It's also the place where Columbus came back in 1493. As a reminder there is a big statue.

A great time to visit...

by Hnewitt

A great time to visit Barcelona is around 24th September as it is the city’s “Festa de la Merce”. It is the main festival and celebrates Barcelona’s patron saints and everybody goes mad! Massive processions make their way around town including the famous Barcelona big heads, all good, clean fun!

Graffiti art around the city...

by Orbital_

Keep your eyes peeled and you’ll see some wonderful examples of graffiti art around the city. Tucked away on side streets in the Barri Gotic and Port Vell there’s some great examples. To some it looks childish, rude and mere vandalism. But look closer, and you’ll find there’s often intriguing social comment. It’s just a different way of expressing it.

Expensive stuff

by codrutz about El Corte Ingles

El Corte Ingles is Spain's largest department store chain, founded all the way back in 1934. Now the big company that exist in all important cities of Spain takes its name from a little shop that made in 1890 tailored clothes for children.

I found the ones (there was three) in Barcelona to have a lot of things but I found the clothes to be a little expensive that I thought. I mean there were designer clothes and accessories for the ones that wants to shop for the brand name.
