Follow the mass of people!
From the statue of Columbus (can't miss it: very tall guy pointing at something .) follow the mass of people up La Rambla. This is a shopping and dining street that leads up to the Placa de Catalunya.

Are there any free wifi locations in Las Ramblas area?
Jiwire search brings a hotel or 2
http://v4.jiwire.com/search-hotspot-locations.htm
you can also try TravelBar.com
in plaza catalunya, you have free wiki offered by the city hall. The access is limited but you will be able to consult your mail for example
If not you can go to some starbuck with wifi or go to gran via de los corts catalanas, just round the corner of the Zara shop and there is a coffee bar with free wifi
Even though it might not be the most genuin of locations but MC Donalds (www.mcdonalds.es) has free wifi areas in their restaurants. They have at least one or two nearby Las Ramblas area.

Barcelona has a mild weather. The hottest month is July, (27-30 C Degrees). The coldest month is February (7-9 C Degrees). To visit Barcelona I'd recommend from April to June, and from September to December. The coolest day of the year is Sant Jordi's Day (April 23rd), when everybody is in the streets to celebrate the Catalan lovers day.
Barcelona is a northern capital placed in the South. Two Catalan words describe our Character: 'Seny' = Common Sense (The North) and 'Rauxa' = Frenzy (The South).
It is great to see local artists display some of their works. You may see a lot of this along Las Ramblas or even around the Barri Gotic cathedrals. It is at times very genuine and quite good. But all art is subject to many different opinions. There are many galleries in the Carrer Montcada and even some more modern local works on display and for sale near the Barcelona Cathedral. In fact Barcelona has so many areas that are picturesque you may feel as though you are walking through one.
A place well hidden in one of narrow Gracia's streets. Full of character, it escapes definition although the owner, Steve, will tell you that it's an Irish club (not pub!). Stays open until the last guest leaves, which is rarely before 7am. If you're claustrophobic, don't go - it's very, very, very small. But the miniature size is a part of its charm, and I'd warmly recommend it to all likeminded freaks outhere!
Should not be off the beaten path but I meet any nunber of people who have not been on a visit to the Palau de Musica just a bit up from the cathedral - and it is amazing.
The Monastery of Pedralbes is also worth seeing but its about half an hour on a bus. (photo)
