Simple Fare on La Rambla
by noshipsherlock
Any suggestions for a comfy, non touristy cafe on, or just off, La Rambla for supper?

Great Falafel: Moaz Falafel. Veggie: Juicy Jones.

sorry to say, but nowadays 'non touristy cafe' and 'on, or just off, La Rambla' can't be put on the same sentence.
The places said above are OK, but not what I would classify as 'comfy' and definitely not as 'non touristy' (even of course some locals passing by can use them). Most of we locals avoid Las Ramblas to east or drink, as we can get much better value anywhere else.
My advice: walk 15-20 minutes away from Las Ramblas and you will be spoiled by choice, and you will pay about half price for better food and drinks. Thee is plenty of small cafes all over the city, just get out the most obvious touristy path.

As Belsita says, there are many good restaurants not far from Ramblas. One of my favorites is just 2 blocks away: http://www.culleretes.com/
Why are you particularly asking about Ramblas? There are many nicer areas to explore nearby.

Great advice. I never intended to eat ON La Rambla per se, but didn't word the question as well as it could have been ;)
How about your opinion on two off the path places...Romesco on Sant Pau or Rincon de Aragon (Terrero) on Carme?

Visit Park Güell. A truly unique experience and place. You'll discover whimsical architecture, grottos, viaducts, the collonade with its undulating, mosaic-style bench (I was so enthralled with it that it took me over an hour to visually take it all in), meandering paths filled with lush greenery, palm trees and colorful flowers leading to a closed chapel at the top of the mountain.

Look at the Hensel and Gretel Cottages at Parc Guell. Return to your childhood fantasy of visiting a Cottage made of candies and other goodies. It certainly look very tasty. These are actually souvenir shops.

I love Spain and Spanish people!
Just remember if you speak Spanish, you still may have a bit of trouble understanding Catalan. A book of useful phrase can help, but it's not essential as most people will speak English.
Tibidabo Mountain
by HORSCHECK
Tibidabo mountain (532 m) is located on the northwestern edge of Barcelona. It offers panoramic views of the town. On top of the mountain is an Amusement Park, dating from 1901, and the church Sagrat Cor (Sacred Heart).
The mountain can be reached from Placa Doctor Andreu by the longest and steepest of Barcelona's three funiculars.
Buy some flowers at Las Ramblas
by scottishvisitor about Street vendor
Walking along Las Ramblas looking at the many market stalls we quickly noticed that flowers are a very popular thing to buy in Barcelona judging by the many flower stalls available - must be the romance of the city to entice you to buy some flowers for your other half. Bunches of flowers, bulbs, seeds and house plants. A few Euros
