I shall be staying at the hotel mentioned below. Does anyone know if there are any good bars/clubs in the area? Would it be too expensive to catch a taxi back to this hotel from somewhere where there is good night life since the trains stop working at midnite (if im not mistaken!).
If anyone wants to meet up for a drink/coffee/whatever between Oct 24th and Oct29th drop me a line :)

I would go to the Gràcia district, it's very near your hotel and has a very good atmosphere and no mass tourism at all (like in the Gothic Quarter). Only if you are too conservative it's not your place. Just try with the bars or pubs at Plaça del Sol or Plaça Rius i Taulet.
If you prefer a posh area, you can try the locals at Sant Gervasi district, Marià Cubí street for example, it's a bit further from your hotel but you can go there by taxi.
You miss to provide important info: your age, your interests..
You may walk around the Gràcia area that is near lesseps. A nearby and very good club is Otto Zutz, in carrer Lincoln.
Taxis are not very expense. So you might want to go to the Born area downtown (tourist area), or Aribau area, or even Santalo for more stylish bars.
Every wednesday evening (around 9 pm - that's before dining in Barcelona) me and some friends meet at "La Fira" on Provenca/Aribau. I will not be there on wednesday 26, but ask for Gavi.
Saludos,
Pere
