There are tons of little bars and cafes in the area. Just walk around a bit and find one that looks nice. Order a cafe con leche and a pastry; a sandwich if you are really hungry. You won't find a large American or English breakfast, but a European one will be found just about anywhere.

If you walk down Ronda Sant Antoni, you will find a few cafes where the street meets the Mercat Sant Antoni (marketplace). One is called 'Els Tres Tombs.' I remember there being a bakery on the other side of the block too. It's a nice area to walk around. If you are there on Sunday morning, they have a used book and CD market at the Mercat Sant Antoni.

Travel Tips for Barcelona

Olympic Port

by CandS

Visit the beach at Olympic Port!! It was so nice to take our shoes off and walk along the beach for the first time in ages (and the only time for us in Europe)...

Watching the people enjoying their games of beach volleyball and sunbaking was nice too! It was totally different from anywhere else we visited in Europe. :)

Futbol Club Barcelona

A Centenary Soccer club founded by a non-spaniards friends a century ago.. now its one of the best team in Europe and therefore in the world..

His stadium placed in Travessera de les Corts is a excellent Barcelona's Highlight

The best option to arrive is taking subway till 'Les Corts' (green line)or till 'Collblanc' (blue subway)

I suggest try to view any match of FC Barcelona .. who usually play on Sunday at 17h or saturday if they have to play Champions League on tuesday or wednesday

Day trip to Girona

by angiebabe

45-60 minutes by train north of Barcelona is the historical and lovely little town of Girona - surrounded by walls as old as the Roman times! With a jewish quarter, winding and cobbled streets and old churches and a cathedral - all with a canal with picturesque hanging houses on each side this is a day trip with enough to see to satisfy any history buff with a love for the medieval.

Also a good centre for other nearby destinations such as Besalu, Figures, Blanes - serviced by an airport for Ryanair and Easyjet.

La Boqueria, just visit, don't buy

by vec about La Boqueria / Mercat de Sant Josep

Visiting Mercat de Sant Josep, also called LA Boqueria is a colourful experience. But be aware of the prices if you are planning to buy something, it's not cheap, and it seems like they are not so willing to bargain on the price when tourists are buying.
