Camping Pous: Classical camp site
Camping Pous is a good example of a classical camping: a small camping ground next to the old road (the N II), with one sanitary building, tall trees, behind an hostal (Hostal Androl). We stayed for on day to visit the Dali museum. Most people seem to stay one night, the camping attracts a lot of caravans and campers. Funny detail: there is more pressure on the hot watter than on the cold. We paid euro 31, four adults, one tent and a car. Has a restaurant and fresh bread in the morning. Owner speaks English.

Mas Pau: Gourmet retreat outside of Figueres
Mas Pau is the perfect place to stay when visiting Figueres and Costa Brava. The hotel is a new expansion of the Restaurant Mas Pau and provides 4 star accommodation at 3 star prices with a beautiful view of the Catalunya countryside. Celebrity chef Ferran Adria is part owner and the food in the restaurant is excellent and farm fresh. The night we stayed there we felt that we had won the lottery - Ferran Adria brought the staff of El Bulli to prepare a special "Best Of" dinner which was truly amazing!
Unique Quality: New accommodation with excellent restaurant that is exquisitely decorated and reasonably priced (120 Euro for large junior suite as of Dec 2005). My friends make a yearly pilgrimage here just for the food.
